Why is this being dragged out for three days straight? I can understand Nate making Gina uncomfortable with wanting to know why nobody likes her, but you only need one comic and one funny joke for that. Otherwise, everything just comes to a standstill.
It’s been four days and there is no reason why everyone dislikes Gina. I mean, it’s obvious but it shouldn’t take this long for some action.
3/10 This is proof that Peirce can take a great idea for an arc and turn it into stretched-out boring filler. At least it’s not the 2017 Valentine’s Day arc. That went on for two months.
The whole list would take 2 generations to write so here’s a short version 1: Gina’s always bragging about her grades(Out of all things that’s what you brag about? A container full of rusty nails would be more impressive). 2: Gina’s always telling on Nate(Nobody likes a tattle-tale.) 3: She’s always finding ways to embarrass Nate(Probably trying to hide her own flaws. For example She took this long to realize people hate her.). I’m going to go play chess now, but as Nate says, the list never ends!
The main part of this arc has to be tomorrow. If not that, then this is probably a 2 week arc, and by that time, the climax will hopefully happen during that time.
Gina is not wrong. But she must also understand how Nate in this case could only have benefits. He might be able to convince her to stop having a blast ruining his life as much as possible
While Nate may have a bias, nonetheless, if a reasonable discussion takes place, Gina might get some info that might be helpful. Can’t hurt. At least he is telling it in person to her face rather than scathing attacks behind her back….
Y’all remember the times when the arc was sometimes about Nate’s comics?Pierce should probably do more of that bc the arcs with the actual characters are getting dry and boring.
The reason I don’t find many of the post modern Big Nate strips funny is because Big Nate used to have varied jokes that built on each other. The story would progress so you had different jokes all the time. here it just feels like it’s the same joke with static progression. We’ve been here for 3 strips now, and the punchline is obvious.
Plus, it’s so meandering. Nate, you’re asking her if she wants to know. Just spit it out!
I know this is a joke first strip, and I don’t wanna whine too much, but it would be nice if sometimes the obvious punchline would be skipped on for a more interesting joke. This arc is just “Nate making fun of Gina” over and over again. Just to give an example, there’s a “Nate’s Locker” arc from the 2000’s I believe where the jokes range from “Nate ignoring Gina” to “Nate has a bad excuse for Mr. Galvin” to “Nate shocks someone with his locker’s capabilities”. This arc is “Nate mocks Gina” “Nate hates teachers”, “Nate mocks Gina”, and it’s barely any different.
4/10, because it’s not a bad joke persay, just a tired one.

Hate is stronger than simply “not like”, and the only person to actually hate Gina is Nate, whom Gina hates as well.

Can you hurry up and tell her already, Nate? Also, where did Dee Dee go? Wasn’t she the person who got asked that question initially?
Strip rating: 4/10 I’m starting to get impatient with this arc now. Two days left. Peirce, don’t mess up tomorrow’s comic.

a noticeable pattern in big nate strips is that they start off with a great idea for a strip but it slowly rolls down hill as the week progress
