Hate the changes. We only went for two days. Truthfully, we’re not big gamblers, but enjoy eating good food, so we went to the buffet at Wynn the first night, and the buffet at Belagio last night. The buffet at Wynn wins hands down, wonderful food. We also window shopped at at all the Forum Shops, and have our Rolexes, and my diamond earrings, all picked out.

The new bridge that they’re building at Hoover dam is amazing.

Thanks JFri, Cleo, and JohnnyDoc for the nice welcome back. :-) I did go to bed much earlier without a computer around. ;-)

Morning TRIBE! I thought I’d pop in for just a bit to see how our late shift reacted to the changes, and if there were any new improvements. Gotta run to the store (20 miles away!) to get some milk, so my kids can have some for breakfast. I could get it closer, but my dear hubby insists we get a certain brand because it is better quality (Braums - a regional restaurant/grocery store). And the closest Braums is about 20 miles away. Another day of school, so I’ll be around to check in every so often. Anyone want some breakfast from Braums? They have very good biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls, etc.

Good morning again tribe. It’s a gray day here in Georgia’s state capital. While joy get the canoe off the roof, let me explain exactly about where I am: Technically, I not in Metero Atlanta, I’m on the outskirts, just south of it. I live between two of the townships in Clayton County: Jonesboro and the peaceful little haven of Lovejoy, GA. As for someone mentioning I took a trip to Fayettville, N.C., WRONG! I went over to Fayettville, GA. just west of Jonesboro over in (where else?) Fayette County. I’ve never been to Fayettville , N.C. That’s too long a ride. Besides, with the economy like it is, I’m glad I don’t have spend all that money and gas traveling, despite the holiday weekend that’s coming up.

Morning everyone and I am in a great mood because I have woken up to sunshine. Yee Haw!!! Dry, both JFri and I are collectors of antique door knockers. I thought that we could make a late night visit to various stores in the old town section. I, myself, found a lovely glass knocker that reminded me of my childhood. JFri himself, he found an absolutely stellar pair of knockers that he just couldn’t keep his hands off, so he brought them home. Why?!? What did you think that we were talking about?

Dry, one of the improvements of this new format is when I make a comment the comic comes back with my place in my collection intact. All I have to do is click on the next comic avatar and it advances me to the next comic as if I hadn’t made a comment. That is a big improvement over the old format.

An Amish farmer walking through his field notices a man drinking from his pond, with his hand.

The Amish man shouts: “Trinken Sie nicht das Wasser, die Kuhe und die Schweine haben in ihm geschissen!” (which means: “Don’t drink the water. The cows and pigs have crapped in it!)”

The man shouts back: “I am a lawyer. I don’t understand, nor do I care to understand your gibberish. Speak Englishl!”

The Amish man shouts back in English: “Use two hands, you’ll get more!”

Dry,don’t you have a list of avatars at the top of your gocomics page displaying, in order, your comic collection? If not, go to the upper right hand corner and click on home. That should take you to your profile page and you should be able to click on your comics there. Once you do they will be displayed at the top of each comic page you read.

Dry when you are at your homepage does it list the name or names of your comic list? If not, maybe during the change your list might have been lost. JUST A THOUGHT. If you see the name of your comic list click on that. If you don’t , try setting the comics you read back into a collection. Sorry, wish I could be more help. Try emailing gocomics if that doesn’t work.

JOY - We try to stay away from the tourist attractions for the most part. It is great to visit friends or family from an area, and let them be the one to suggest places to see. Never been to a Disney park - never care to go. Not into the bar scene, either. When my sister lived near NYC, it was great having someone familiar with the area as our tour guide. Same thing with Florida. When we visit my in-laws, they’re not much help, since they pretty much just stay in their retirement community. However, visiting our friends is a lot better. He’s a FHP, working in the Keys, so they know where to go - and where NOT to go. It is always great to visit them, because we all get along just fine (including the kids!)

Sometimes we say, “take a run” to the store, but that doesn’t make any more sense. I think we don’t like to say drive to the store for some reason.

The reason I preface my (1/2) witt-icisms here w/a ref to “daaaah strip” is that I know The Tribe is usually - like Pib’s Couch - gonna be chattin’ ‘bout ever’thing BUT the strip, & I don’t wanna interrupt the flow of conversation w/a Random Poke @today’s BT. It’s just politeness taken to its’ logical conclusion.

And, at that time (while going thru ALL the strips in “my collection”), I really don’t want to read 2 or 3 pgs worth o’ comments here b4 posting whatever nutty stuff I could think of typing. So, I drop a ”Drive-by idea” & move on.

Of course, Mancha S de P & Risitas MUST have their peek @ALL the “Fuzzy Wuzzy” strips (w/Grrrranimalz), so BT simply HAS to be in OUR c’llection!

RU sufficiently beffudled, by now, ‘S’???

cleo, I had a friend from England that I worked with, Norma, she was a lovely person, passed away at age of 41, she married an American Serviceman and moved over here, but before she married Jake, she dated Eric Burden before the Animals became a big hit! She died about 15 years ago and I still miss her and think of her. She once gave me a little tiny stuffed rabbit that still sits on my bed headboard>

First time I heard it, my mom ,aunt, cousin and I were traveling to Quebec City and Montreal (my aunt’s idea, but mom was a traveler, just ask her to go, and she had her bags packed!!!) Our ultimate destination was Cape Cod because my aunt thought JFK was the greatest thing since canned beer! Everytime I hear that song it brings me back to that road trip!

Carmy, another interesting story related to a song! California Dreamin”! When I was 12, my mom and dad bought a piece of land and built a house out in the semi-country. We were living there about 6 months, my mom was an RN. They were calling for a BIG blizzard that day and she was working the 3-11 shift, but she went in to work anyway. By 11PM the snow was about 5 feet deep. Our neighbor, also an RN, was working the same shift as my mom. They could have stayed overnight at the hospital but they didn’t want to, so they took a cab, which could only go as far as the road was plowed, which left about 1/2 mile of unplowed road, so they got out of the cab and hiked it the rest of the way! I had that record and loved it so I played it over and over again that night until my mom got home safe! My dad was freaking out! He kept saying that mom was out of her mind! But like our Joy, my mom had a mind of her own!

Hi guys. I’m back. I’m afraid I don’t know a lot of the bands you are talking about, but hear I there I recognise a title.

I have a short story about a song. Our cottage on Geogian Bay used to be (still is, but it’s not ours now) across from the light house end of Christain Island. Gord Lightfoot wrote a song called “In The Lee of Christian Island” He was from around that area.

Dry. Your mom was lucky to survive. People have frozen to death a few feet from home in a blizzard. The worst I’ve been out in a storm was driving to Penetanguishene where in spots we slowed to a crawl and I’d open the car door as we crept forward to tell my friend if we were still on the road. Not fun.

Dry, there are gators everywhere. We have a runoff pond behind our house. It looks like a swamp and that’s what WE call it. There was a gator on the other side of it one day. It was a big one too. I went outside to take a photo and it dove into the swamp. I stood there waiting for it to surface and I realized it might pop up on my side, so I got back in my house. A few weeks later we saw a small gator. He ended up going downstream and was caught sunning in one of the neighbors backyard. He got picked up by Animal Control or whatever.
