Time for a diet and exercise there, Wink! I’ll add the scrambled eggs with a little cheese (or not if you prefer, Dry. They’ll go well with Cleo’s bread and jam. Picked up some oranges, so will have freshly squeezed orange juice. And remember, Quaby left some Krispy Kremes.

Hi I’m here. I just had to leave for a few minutes to take the dog for a walk. Today I made western omelets with red or green peppers, onions, mushrooms and shredded cheese. Or any combination thereof. Also your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. French toast with chokecherry jelly, honey or marmelade. And of course fruit slices and juice.

catching up from yesterday’s cartoon/kid shows posts. i need to thank Quaby for reminding me about Red Skelton (a real favourite in my family). i also need to remind shika of Mr Dressup (the late Ernie Coombs, who briefly worked with Fred Rogers before coming up to Canada and becoming a beloved Kid Show Icon), and Chez Helene (who tried to teach anglo kids a bit about our French neighbours in their own language). I, too, remember the Friendly Giant (with his “rocking chair for those who like to rock, and a big arm chair for two more to curl up in”). All these gentle, slowly paced shows were, i think, far better for kids than what passes for kids programming these days.

@DocT: i’m glad i tried some of your nuclear coffee, yesterday. the super power i was granted must have had something to do with making me able to golf wrong handed. I won a bottle of Crown Royal at my friends stag by winning the putting contest using a right handed putter. Since I’m a lefty, it was an additional handicap (on top of the beer consumption). Good Morning Tribe. I hope your day is going better than mine…though it wouldn’t take much to be better.

I managed to hit the concrete flower pot at church swinging a bit too wide to turn—and it was just right because moving 5-10 mph I have managed to break my axle, suspension or both. Sigh….our good car and I broke it. It’s sitting out in the church’s parking lot waiting for the tow truck. AT least I don’t have to worry about getting it towed this very moment, it’s fine where it’s at and if a car thief can drive it off more power to him. I have my insurance claim #, my dealership is on the insurance preferred shops list and I happen to have vacation next week so that saves car rental charges. Of course I still have the high deductible because I did the wacking at a stationary object but it’s better than the entire enchalada. We still have the tank (‘98 Saturn wagon) which is running well. IT is old enough for the Clunker’s program…..but the milage is still about 25mph..better than the newer Focus!! IT’s a good little car.

Meanwhile, back to comments….I went to Overboard and found the huge posting, but didn’t seem to find the other items which were really bugging the Tribe. Guess they were pulled. By the time I get to them they ususaly have been pulled.

BC13 has been around a while, the other 2 I haven’t seen before. Must be the heat making people tetchy. Ignore and flag if necessary is my preference. Too bad there’s no way to mute certain posters. It wouldn’t hide their comments for everyone, but only for the person muting them.

sadly (at least from my perspective), bc13 *is* a member of the A-team. i left him a gentle reminder of something he said earlier, and i hope he holds true to his vow to stay away from strips he no longer likes. time for me to interact with real life, now (laundry waits for no man!), so i’ll have to leave real soon. just have time for the crossword puzzles, though i’ll keep this tab open and peek in again before i leave for good.

Hi, Tribe… Just pandering thru again. I saw several sites had a little activity today. It’s not my place to comment but I think that to preserve what we have at this site, we must refrain from engaging unfriendlies at other sites. No acknowledgements or reference to behavior. We know the drill. Flag only. We are NOT the Internet Police.

I may have found my outlet in a blog. It is becoming apparent that the new generation of (this does not specifically indicate young) commenter on Comics.com and Gocomic.com, is using…

If I don’t have that much to say, I take a page out of Dry’s book (whether she realizes it or not). I type the comment then hit ESCape. I also am not the conscience of The Tribe and not trying to be. Just a little food for thought. I’ll shut up now and go stand in a corner.

Where’s the corner in this tent?

serena - It’s a drag when you have to spend all the hours of sunlight working. Hopefully you have windows at work. I could not take working in a windowless environment and both arriving and departing in the dark. The closest I came was working in a photo lab that was in the mall. The saving grace is that just a few steps from our store was a giant skylight, so for lunch I could go outside the store and at least have natural light.

Last time they claimed I had garbage (lie) and ‘signs of insect activity’,,,Comeon, this is cockroach country. If they’re not out telling you what they want for supper then they’re under control. But I know what bugged them, the boxes of stuff in the dining area. Yeah, it was pretty bad. But I’ve put up/got rid of 75% of it and working on the rest. I can’t do it all at one time. Sigh. Dry yes, I do. I was sick the week before and it wasn’t up to total snuff, but the stupid form letter made it sound like I was living in filth, etc, etc. I watch How Clean is Your House? on BBC America, and believe me, I can’t even come close to those places. And it’s never nice to be reminded that part of the lease agreement is keeping the place clean. I agree about that, but I ain’t Martha Stewart, and I don’t sit around all day eating bon bons. I work for a living. Sigh They’re suddenly switching pest control people in September…..I get the feeling some of the other residents got a love letter, too, and were able to prove it was bogus. With the three tubs and all the boxes of stuff in the dining room, I knew it was better to call and say ‘I got it and I’m working on it’.

At this time of year though, you wonder if the warm spell is the last of the season. We have nice weather in September, but you can tell it isn’t summer. But we are heading to Washington DC and Virginia for just under three weeks and it stays warmer later there.

Dry - I can’t change my filter. It is one that the filter company has to do the unblocking. With 2 geeks in the family, they would figure out how to circumvent any other type. Sorry!

RL has been extremely busy lately! I’ve made two trips to CO, plus worked a couple of days at my husband’s plant in between. (Doing a little painting - hope the boss will at least give me a gift certificate for a steak dinner for all my hard work. If nothing else, I guess my husband got some “brownie points” for my labors.) I just got all my comics read, but didn’t take the time to read any comments on gocomics that weren’t today’s. Whew! I’m hoping life will get back to less hectic for a while.

If RMom comes back on I did notice the word dog (backwards) was used in an exclamation. Only thing I could see and it’s pretty innocuous. If it is the cause I would suggest the filter be less stringent - especially with teens. Preteens - well, maybe it’s justified. Can’t GoComis just be put on a white list?

Sorry I’m so late but have been watching tv while reading all the posts.
