I know that everyone will come out of the wood work now, but I couldn’t wait any longer. My eyes are drooping.

    Let’s see:

Fresh fruits and melons, plain yogourt, raw honey, multi-grain bread.

    Peameal bacon and scrambled eggs

    Juice and Doc’s coffee.

We used to have the same kind of thing hooked up to our TV. It would monitor the closed caption text, and whenever there was offensive language, it would cut the audio and display the cc text with alternate words, so “kick him in the balls” would become “kick him in the guts”. Unfortunately, like the nannybot, it didn’t understand context either so we’d get stuff like commercials advertising Cheese-Guts and the lyrics to “What’s new pussycat” (at the end of the movie Cats & Dogs) changed to “What’s new Wimp?”

I wouldn’t mind one of those, however, when we want to watch “Tora, Tora, Tora” or “Midway” for the historical aspect. What does it do for those revolting commercials?

Terry - Still a no-go. BTW, there is another poster named “lonewolf77” somewhere on gocomics today. (I forget where he posted.) I’m wondering if there is some announcement/ad that is causing the problem? With Firefox & Norton, I’m not having pop-up ads, or any non-go-comics ads, but I’ve noticed that some of their announcements I’ve seen, border on the questionable - especially if they’re meant for iPhones. The reason I’m starting to think it might not always be the comments, is because it won’t even let me go to “home” today, where there aren’t any places to comment that I can think of.

Terry - You might be right, but I’ve seen just the picture area blocked before, instead of the whole page, so it just doesn’t make sense to me. Last time it blocked my home page, I requested an “unblock” and got denied. Which is a real bummer on the days it is blocked, as then I can’t make my usual laps of only my pre-selected comics. Thankfully I had time today, but it is real annoying on the days when I’m short on time.

You do have patience. That filter and I would not be able to live in the same house. Can’t your husband or son configure it for you. I might be mistaken but I thought you said that one or both of them were good with computers. I’ve never heard of a proetection program that could not be configured to different levels of security.

RRAmom The device actually worked at about a 95% success rate, but unfortunately it was not HDMI compatible so I had to disconnect it when we bought our new TV. It only worked on the audio though, be nice to have one that could blank out the video sometimes too. I know they’re out there, just never got around to testing one.

tabby - I’ve had plenty of experience with fainting. Passed out in my freshman homeroom class, and found out how embarrassing that was! Since you now know what the warning signs are (like for me - when a “veil “starts blocking my vision), find a place to lie down quickly. It is embarrassing, but less embarrassing than waking up to a circle of people staring at you. You might try eating more salt to help your blood pressure. I doubt you have high bp, more likely you had a sudden drop in your bp, which is why you fainted. This runs in my family, and a “tilt table test” is the official testing method, but it seems to be hard to get the medical profession to okay the test. Our condition is called: Neurocardiogenic Syncope. You might want to go to WebMD or some other medical site and look up the symptoms to see if they sound like what you experience. (((tabby)))

Dfrog - I know my mom was pretty good about muting the commercials, but then you had to watch them to see when they were over, which the pictures could be worse than the language. I would think it will just be a matter of time before they come up with one that is compatible with HDMI.

There’s a California congresswoman that’s fed up with loud commercials, and she’s introduced a bill to force the FCC to require commercials to broadcast at a level not any louder than the program in which they are presented. http://eshoo.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=491&Itemid=79 Sorry for the politics, but I think this is a GOOD thing.

Of the state roads were labeled something like CT 5. The GPS would always read it as Court 5. He said it also had problems with Dr. Would say doctor instead of drive.

Michigan is not the campus for that stuff, unfortunately, there is one less thing to distract me here. :(

Michigan State would be the place for that. Most of the girls here are actually here for there degrees.

johnny really, I thought MIch was an hour behind us. So you’ll be up til midnite? What time do your classes start? Sorry, my oldest would stay up until 3am when he was home watching tv and kicking back. Swears he went to bed early at college, yeah right, mom believed that one! Although, he was a very serious student! Freaked out if he got a B in high school, learned to relax that in college!

johnny LOL at dinner today at my college, we have a new student who’s from Michigan. I mentioned you and he asked what college you are at, and I said I didn’t know. He asked what you were studying, and I said something about medical training, but not a doctor. I think he wondered about me when I told him your age too, so I hastened to say that I have many friends of ALL ages on line.

Hoo-boy. do I have some ‘splainin’ to do next week, LOL!

My classes don’t start until ten, except on Thursdays, and I get up a little before 9, so I get plenty of sleep. Doc the practical side of me doesn’t want anything to do with girls. The other side, desperately wants to change that. Reality has made the final say, though, and I am too shy to change it.
