Akenta per your request.

GRANOLA

3 cups old fashioned oats 1 cup wheat bran 1 cup wheat germ 1/2 cup pecans 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar. 1/3 cup OJ (I use frozen and don’t add water) 2 teas. melted butter 1 teas. cinnamon

mix oats, bran, wheat germ, nuts and seeds in large bowl. in small bowl mix brown sugar, OJ, butter and cinnamon, then mix with oat mixture. Bake at 275 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

(I have gradually begun extending the cooking time. The last time I made it I got involve talking to you all and forgot it in the oven. It was in for at least two hours and had really baked to a crisp. It turned out to be the best it has ever been. All of the flavors at intensified. At such a low temp. it doesn’t really burn. We have it every morning on top of several other cereals that we combine with fruit.)

Good morning tribe. acordoing to my last post i got 9 hours of sleep… then why do i feel like i could sleep all day and still be tired. my body does not want to sleep at night it wants to sleep in the day. I am not doing enough things in RL to make it tired enough at night. theres to much rain and to cold to let me and Ana go out and play or anything so i cant ride my bike or go for a job or anything. its used to climbing 5 flights of stairs 3 days a week. im getting fat here even come on.

hi Tabby, Johnny, DocT, cleo, Joy, Rmom, DigiToad, Saucy, DC, & Terry (i hope your tests went well). hope everyone is doing as well as the weather here is doing. temperature is mid 20’s Fahrenheit, with wind gusting to 30 mph, but it’s bright sunshine out my window (despite the weather site saying it’s snowing out). granted that the station is at the airport, but i can see the airport from my window so i should be able to see the snow as well. c’est-la-vie.

It is a Chinese fire drill. I think the punchline is that the guy is reading the paper, and a guy gets out and does it with his pets and his cat drives away. That would be quite the spectacle if I was sitting there.

Tabby i have about a half hour to visit, tour and do my crossword puzzles. it isn’t enough time, but it keeps me sane. (or at least san-ER!) i’ll be in and out - so to speak. johnny i remember doing Chinese fire drills in high school. usually while travelling to watch our school football team on road games.

Hi, yyyguy and johnny! yyyguy - I think the high yesterday was about 16F here - at least that’s what the thermostat in my car said it was - burr! Sunny and no snow, so if you’re inside, it isn’t too bad, but unfortunately, I did have a couple of errands that couldn’t wait. We’re supposed to get above freezing today, and have highs in the 30’s or 40’s for a few days, but cold again for the weekend. It is supposed to be windy when the warm weather blows in, but it hasn’t arrived yet.

jdoc thanks makes since now. i do hope im not to sick also. think thats what is wrong with my sleep also. love how you call me kiddo. lol you only 3 years older

We used to and still (rarely) do them, they are scary though. Never know when someone is going to lock you out. Tabby, I don’t think I am even that much older.

Rmom the temps here have been hovering around the freezing mark for the past few days, though it’s been a bit windy. we have snow on the ground, but it’s barely covering. more snow (flurries) in the forecast for before the weekend. i don’t tend to wear sleeves on my winter jacket until the temps drop to the low 20’s or so - being that i’m part polar bear. (side note: Dry’s avatar is one i could have used myself if i’d seen it first. i’ve used at least 2 polar bear pics in the past.)

I think we will have to do one of them, they look fun. but when they lock the doors do they drive off without you???? not sounding as fun. and i think on the bench it was a clown look at the hair. :D

well now THAT was odd.

i woke up this morning and my mouth still tasted ment like. i dont have ment toothpaste and i assumed it was my mouthwash. well teeth brushed again ate some food. and drank a coke my breath still tasted like ment….. so i was confused. well i was picking food out of my braces and at the top left back bracket i had a peace of my gum stuck in it. that explains it all. LOL i had used my gum to help make the wire stop pinching my cheek bc i have a huge sore on my cheek and i guess a piece of it got stuck. funny, but gross and odd. so i had to share wit you all

yyyguy - I wish I could be warm in the winter. My husband claims that my blood needs to circulate for that to happen. (He has high bp, I do not.) Now that I have plenty of extra pounds to serve as insulation, I thought maybe I’d be warm, but I’m still cold. I do hate to wear winter coats, but I’ve got a couple that keep me fairly warm, however they are heavy and bulky. So, I usually only wear one on days when the wind chill is pretty low. I’ve got a comfortable fleece jacket that works for outdoors or indoors, if it isn’t too cold.

So why do i get the feeling that “not feeding the trolls” wont work on this one a BB? he thinks we are doing him a favor. he likes that we dont talk to him. he is anoying the life out of me. But i refuse to feed him. i wont do it not today, not unless he attacks one of my moms…. then he is done for fried to a crips. done for i tell you. he best not even think it. sigh. some peoples children

i hear you, Rmom! i neglected to mention that i generally wear short sleeved t-shirts as well. my coworkers in the warehouse will have on sweat shirts and fleece jackets and even the same type of vest that i wear outdoors while i’ll be sitting at my desk in my t-shirt. some of them think i’m nuts. one of my friends nicknamed me “the viking” because of my ‘vest with short sleeves under it’ look. i just say i spent way too many years on cold hockey rinks to let temperature bother me, and sympathize with them as best i can (which occasionally lapses into good natured ridicule).

Hello Tabby & bmonk. I have finished my destructive projects for the day. I have hung shades that kept falling on my head, I replaced a door handle without incident and I (attempted) to put a decorative hook in the ceiling for a hanging plant. I drilled a hole, Inserted the screw end into the hook then began twisting the hook into the ceiling, the first hook broke off into my hand during the last few twists. So, I removed the hook and used the second hook from the pack and attached it to the screw end still in the ceiling. As I began tightening it, the screw broke off inside the hook. I ended the project by using vise grips to remove the broken screw from the ceiling and spackled over the hole. Not a feel good moment.

Doc, They didn’t like all the nuclear coffee in my system when they took my blood pressure reading today! The nurse told me only one or two cups each day. I laughed and blamed it on the main med! LOL

She called my primary physician and he told her I was right.

… although those hooks are pretty suspect. If you can’t put a little pressure on a screw without it breaking, I don’t know. I do resemble the hulk in the comic books.

Terry, my girls got out earlier because Thursday and Friday were “weather days” that weren’t used. Our weather days are make up days for hurricanes, etc. YES! Hurricane season is over!! What a blessing it was to have no hurricanes head our way. Not like that year when we had like about 5 of them.

Carmy–If we have any snow days here, they are already accounted for at the end of the school year. If some days are not used then they get out for summer vacation a few days earlier.

not a lot of time to hang out tonight because i have to be up before 7 am so i can bring my car in for service work and it’s 12:50 am as i type. (nudge nudge, Dry & bmonk) just figured i’d take a quick peek before watching my recorded Jeopardy episode.

cross typed again. no Tabby, no all nighters for me if i can help it. not any more. for a time, when i was in school (18 going on 19) i got on a weird insomniac thing in which i’d be up for, like, 35 or 40 hours straight and then crash for about 12 hours before repeating the process. it lasted for about a month before i finally dropped out because i wasn’t going to classes anyway. (and this was back in 1975 & 6 when there wasn’t even TV after about 1 am, never mind internet.) i’ll be all right with 4 or 5 hours tonight because i’ve been sleeping pretty well lately.
