Grog, I’ve got someone from the pool league coming by today to have me look at his car. He says it’s running rough. Other than that I need to work on one of my own vehicles.
Doc, I know what you mean. For years I worked in a state liquor store, going from part time up to manager. I hated the holidays, particularly Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. They were the two busiest days of the year and there was not let up from when we opened until when we closed. On top of that we had to start preparing for it in August, so we had our warehouse gradually start to get more and more full. I eventually quit when my back and neck started to bother me and I started to have carpel tunnel issues.
I may have depleted your stock on St. Patrick’s day, but no plans on doing that this week-end, Doc
———–
My boss just gave me the ok to leave any time I want, so it’s time bear down & get my stuff done. The sooner I get it done, the sooner I can make like a tree.
Doc are you saying that I would sneak in and raid your ice cream freezer? Innocent ME? It wasn’t only me that left all the empty cartons around. And I did leave a little bit of ice cream. hee hee
so i am up and about to work on my english bib for my essay. the stupid bib has to be 10 pages. AHHHHHH UGH and the paper has to be 10 pages as well. Lord help me. anyone wanna help me?
How about the internet or library for research. I don’t think I could think of 10 pages of words. I guess depends on subject.
Getting close to my lunch time. As I stated days ago I don’t always get on big top.
Good Friday to everyone. Nice day here.
I wish I had the right type of English for school but too long of a tale and too many years ago.
Annotated bibliographies are common in academic writing; in fact, entire books of nothing but annotated sources exist. They benefit you as a writer by allowing you to formulate and plan your paper, determine the value of your sources, and determine whether or not you have a good mixture of sources. For this bibliography, you must have seven to eight credible sources (journal articles, books, magazine articles, or newspapers) and annotations for each source.
Introduction
For this assignment, you must have a 1-2 page introduction that contains background information from current, credible sources. You must also include your thesis statement in this section.
Annotations
Annotations must be 400-500 words each, and each must contain three specific parts.
Detailed summary of the article for someone who has not read the article.
An evaluation of the article describing it strengths, weaknesses, and overall credibility.
Three to four sentences describing how you intend to use the source in your essay.
Your annotations must paraphrase the source. Do not rely heavily on quotations. Also, if you quote directly without citing, it will be considered plagiarism.
At the top of each annotation, you must have the bibliographic information for the source in MLA format. Each source must be in alphabetical order also.
Web sites such as epinions.com or wikihow.com, or sites of “tips” or “quotes”
If you have a 1-2 page introduction, seven to eight sources, and your annotations are 400-500 words each with a bibliographical citation preceding each one, you will have NO trouble meeting the length requirement.
diffrent i have heard of Michael Buble (the classical station i listen to plays his music occasionally), but my tastes run more towards other types of music so i’m not familiar with any of his stuff in particular.
Hello all, I am so busy lately. I just finished putting dough in to rise for two two pound loaves of banana bread. It’s a little more complicated and healthier than the usual banana breads. It has two long rises so I don’t think I will bake it until tomorrow. I am doing dinner tonight as well.
Lonewolf, when I got home I had some lunch & then took a nap for a couple of hours to make up for last night’s lost sleep. I feel like I could go back for a couple more hours. I’m not quite awake yet.
Good afternoon, Terry, yyyguy & Grog!
Just got back from the lawyer’s office this morning. I’ve got to make copies of my receipts, etc. for the money I’ve spent from the trust. Now, if I could just get my scanner to work!
Grog - Glad you got some sleep! I drank a lot of caffeine while I was working on my mom’s house. Now, I’m trying to cut back, but it sure makes napping more tempting.
Terry - No, just to prove I’m being an honest trustee. I’ve almost got Mom’s tax return done. But since the lawyer needs this before I can pay out inheritances, I’ve got to get it done, ASAP. I still have to do our tax return, too. I don’t think it should take me too long, since I keep good records, IF my scanner/printer would work.
Grog - When I’m stressed, I don’t sleep well, so that probably doesn’t help. I’m hoping I can sleep late tomorrow morning, as for once, I don’t have any reason I have to get up early and go anywhere. I’m less sleepy today than I have been, although talking about it, isn’t helping. I’ve had other things like this in life - drink more caffeine than normal when life is hectic, then cut back and catch up on sleep after it gets calmer. At least I’m familiar with this symptom, so nothing to worry about.

Wow, Tabby, that was quick! I guess you must have worked on it earlier, because I know there would be no way for me to write something that long, that fast, that needed all those sources. (Personal experience, opinion or fiction, maybe, but not a research paper.)
I had Oriental Ramen for lunch, since I had to eat early and hit the road–but in about 20 mins we get sphagetti for supper–though not meat sauce. Maybe a nice alfredo? Yum!
Hello, just got all my chopping done for dinner. When LilG gets home everything is ready to cook. We have had some gusty winds today and the wind has been cool.
I actually have a German friend who makes sausages and sells them in a store at Pike Place Market as well as stores in my town. He is called Uli and so are his sausages. What I like is he sells a T shirt printed with the slogan, Ask me about my sausage.
Cleo nothing special for Easter. Church and out to eat. I am tired of doing all the holiday cooking, so I made a pronouncement, we are going out to eat or everyone can fend for themselves! PERIOD! And you know this FHIG means it! LOL!
Good Evening, LonewolfShika, surely, you’ve seen that Brady Bunch episode where one of the kids asks Alice what’s for dinner, and she answeres in a Bogi voice. And no, I am not a fan of The Brady Bunch, but I do remember that particular show.
Shika, I don’t recall Bogi actually saying it in any of his movies. I don’t even think I ever saw him eat in one of his movies, unlike James Garner who always seemed to be eating tacos on The Rockford Files.
Grog I watch my soap, “Days of Our Lives” (since day 1), “24”, the CSI’s, news, weather channel, ESPN and that is pretty much it. I have no control over the rest of it!
Hello everybody I hope you are all having a great Friday. I just got done Spring cleaning and am now settling down to watch the movie called The Blind Side. See you later.
Harvard to us non-Beantowners. They are very large burgers to begin with. I know a place in Montreal that made steer burgers that were about an inch think. These were like those, but you got double meat!
But I can’t picture him saying “pork chops and applesauce” either, but we’ve always used that line as a joke in my family, so we must have been Brady Bunch fans.
Cleo Netflix on your computer? How big is your screen? I assumed you watched it on TV, of course, I know you have no cable, but thought you had a DVD player.
I think Bogi ate in Casablanca, but I can’t remember what! You know, Lauren Bacall still looks pretty bleeep good for as old as she is. Just saying, I KNOW she wasn’t in Casablanca. That was Ingrid Bergman.
Dry we got rid of our TV and dvd player months ago. Our Movie room is actually a former bedroom. I have a pretty good sized Apple monitor that works for the viewing of movies. And since I fall asleep at the beginning of most movies, screen size had no relevance. LOL
Dry, I can play a DVD on my computer if I want to, but I would rather watch my DVD with everything connected to my sound system connected to my big screen TV in my family room. My computer is not tied into that. But I can still watch tube while I’m on the computer.
I like green pepper sauce (a flavored kind of spicy) on a scrambled egg sandwich or even straight up scrambled eggs. Green peppers are great in omelettes.
bunny Many great spaghetti sauces are made without meat and cheese, especially in summer when you have fresh tomatoes, basil, etc. Glad you enjoyed your meal! Do you have to do Easter or Easter Vigil services this weekend? I wish I could be at one of your services. I’ll bet you do a good service!
Let’s see: as pastor, I have a double helping of all the Triduum services: Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Good Friday Services, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses. Well, two of each except for the Easter Vigil, and that’s a joint liturgy, with an Abbey MC doing the planning and directing.
So lots of the stuff is shared–for example, at the Good Friday General Intercessions, I sang the introduction to each petition, and the Abbot did the second part. At the Vigil, I do the Exultet, and preach, but the Abbot preached today. So it’s a heavy dose of liturgy, but not killing.
Bmonk I admire all that you do! I was close to our last two Priests. Still keep in touch, but not enough. I know what you all do, and I KNOW it is difficult! You carry a very heavy burden and a blessing at the same time. It takes a special person to do that. It takes special people to do a lot of things in this world, things most of us don’t have the courage or commitment to do.
Actually, for some of us, the liturgy is not as hard as it seems. I’ve never had “stage fright” from liturgy–because I’m not doing it to preform, but for God. So, even things that some find hard, like preaching to the monks, doesn’t really faze me.
bunny Stand By Me was made in 1986. It’s on Tv with commercials, but I own the DVD. GREAT movie about coming of age. Nothing X rated, just a nice movie about 12 year old boys moving on, growing up, etc.
bmonk, We had a priest here once, who was German, his family survived Aushwitz. He was just a little boy then. He became a Priest. . When he said the Mass, it was transforming!! HIs sincerity was so genuine. Every time he had the Mass I went away feeling SO peaceful.
Bmonk, Yes Father Gerard was very special! I have never before or since seen a Priest bring that much to the altar! As much as we have had some very good Priests, none have even come close to him! And sadly, he has passed away!
Dry, my Mom was a lousy cook, but she could shake & bake. That was her strength in the kitchen. I loved her peanut butter cookies and come Christmas time she made these mince tarts laced with brandy that were to die for - among other Christmas treats.
Remember whe you were a kid and your Mom would say, “No desert for you until you clean off your plate?”
There were many times when that was a struggle, but desert was well worth the effort most of the time - except when it was fruit cocktail!
Lonewolf Thank your daughter for me! You wouldn’t happen to have any more muffins? If you do can I have one more PLEEEEEEEEEASE?
Grog I though you were going to say you loved her peanut butter sandwiches! Yeah, if you are lucky, there are a lot of good things to miss about a parent. Do you have any of her recipes? You could try making something she made.
Grog ~ I once told Monkey 1 and Monkey 2 they had to finish their cookies before they could have an apple. My mom used to make us sit at the table until we were done. When she made certain foods, we would still be sitting there an hour or so later.
I’m not a baker, LuvH8. A lot of my recipes will come out of various cook books that end up tasting a lot better than what I used to have at the dinner table. Therefore, there’s really no room for desert. The only thing I “bake” is a tortiere, (French Canadian meat pie). It’s a recipe that I got off the internet for a taste of home. Great in the winter months.
Grog I know what you mean about peanut butter cookies! My mom was a good cook, a REALLY good baker, an EXCELLENT RN, and a GREAT knitter! HECK, my mom was a great LADY period! She had more respect and admiration from the people who knew her, I was truly blessed to have her!
By the way, I can’t stand peanut butter sandwiches or cheese sandwiches & balony sandwiches for that matter. I got really sick of them and mac & cheese by the time I got through my latter teens.
The only kind of sandwiches I’ll eat now will be something like a corned beef or pastromi sandwich. Pepper jack would be a good cheese to top with one of those.
Dry, my Mom’s only real shortcoming was that she was a pickier eater than Peter Potterloop. That was reflected in a lot of of her cooking. It was bland. If it were veggies it was boiled to death, if it was meat, it was over-cooked. Other than that one short-coming, she was the greatest.
But the Home Improvement kids wouldn’t complain about Jill’s cooking if they had tasted my Mom’s.
Not for that, Dry. I forget from where exactly I got the recipe, but I meant to say the reason why I eeven searched for the recipe to begin with was because I wanted a taste of home. My mother never actually made a tortiere from scratch. She always went store-bought with the frozen La Bell Fermiere brands popular in Montreal.
Dry, speaking of reiman publications, I used to work with them a lot. I was one of their field editors on the mag called Country Discoveries and had a number of articles and pics pulblished in that mag as well as Country and Counry Extra.
I just thought it might be a nice reminder to have something she made you liked. Whenever I make lemon meringue pie I make sure I overbeat the meringue and leave a swirl pattern on top. when it cools there are little drops that look like thin honey on top. I always thought it was pretty when my great grandmother made it like that, and it reminds me of her.
LuvH8, it all depends on WHAT’S in the sandwich. But if it’s PB, PB&J, balony, salami or processed cheese, no thanks. I’d rather go to MacD’s - and I don’t like that either, but it’s a very small step in the right direction.
Nope, not making you any sandwiches. Not ever! (Just to be safe.) I like peanut butter (the real stuff with just peanuts and a little bit of salt) and jelly sandwiches on wheat bread.
That’s nice Grog. My secret is if it tastes right you made it right.
That’s OK, as long as I’ve got the right stuff, I can make my own. I like to heat my sandwiches up in the microwave for a bit - just enough to melt that pepper jack! I like to use whole wheat buns, but can be swayed there.
I knew I should have never learned to cook! Whenever I make something people like, they want me to make it again. If I make something I don’t like, I don’t serve it.
I refuse to mix cottage cheese and fruit for my Gma. I will bring her a bowl of fruit (peaches or pineapple) and a bowl of cottage cheese though.
Do you think Lonewolf doesn’t have any more blueberry muffins, and that is why he didn’t talk during commercials?

I actually have a German friend who makes sausages and sells them in a store at Pike Place Market as well as stores in my town. He is called Uli and so are his sausages. What I like is he sells a T shirt printed with the slogan, Ask me about my sausage.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago

Good Evening, Lonewolf Shika, surely, you’ve seen that Brady Bunch episode where one of the kids asks Alice what’s for dinner, and she answeres in a Bogi voice. And no, I am not a fan of The Brady Bunch, but I do remember that particular show.

Thank you cleo! I’ll be there. Anything will be better than my leftovers.

But I can’t picture him saying “pork chops and applesauce” either, but we’ve always used that line as a joke in my family, so we must have been Brady Bunch fans.

If this works, it will show that there is a lot of controversy about who first said the phrase, Alice, Peter, Bogey or Cagney.
People have waaay too much time on their hands.

Dry we got rid of our TV and dvd player months ago. Our Movie room is actually a former bedroom. I have a pretty good sized Apple monitor that works for the viewing of movies. And since I fall asleep at the beginning of most movies, screen size had no relevance. LOL

bmonk over 14 years ago
And, yes, we do try to do a nice liturgy.

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
bunny Stand By Me was made in 1986. It’s on Tv with commercials, but I own the DVD. GREAT movie about coming of age. Nothing X rated, just a nice movie about 12 year old boys moving on, growing up, etc.

Dry, my Mom was a lousy cook, but she could shake & bake. That was her strength in the kitchen. I loved her peanut butter cookies and come Christmas time she made these mince tarts laced with brandy that were to die for - among other Christmas treats.

Remember whe you were a kid and your Mom would say, “No desert for you until you clean off your plate?” There were many times when that was a struggle, but desert was well worth the effort most of the time - except when it was fruit cocktail!
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog ~ I once told Monkey 1 and Monkey 2 they had to finish their cookies before they could have an apple. My mom used to make us sit at the table until we were done. When she made certain foods, we would still be sitting there an hour or so later.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I’m not a baker, LuvH8. A lot of my recipes will come out of various cook books that end up tasting a lot better than what I used to have at the dinner table. Therefore, there’s really no room for desert. The only thing I “bake” is a tortiere, (French Canadian meat pie). It’s a recipe that I got off the internet for a taste of home. Great in the winter months.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog I know what you mean about peanut butter cookies! My mom was a good cook, a REALLY good baker, an EXCELLENT RN, and a GREAT knitter! HECK, my mom was a great LADY period! She had more respect and admiration from the people who knew her, I was truly blessed to have her!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
By the way, I can’t stand peanut butter sandwiches or cheese sandwiches & balony sandwiches for that matter. I got really sick of them and mac & cheese by the time I got through my latter teens.
The only kind of sandwiches I’ll eat now will be something like a corned beef or pastromi sandwich. Pepper jack would be a good cheese to top with one of those.

*HEY CLEO, DA’ MAN!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, my Mom’s only real shortcoming was that she was a pickier eater than Peter Potterloop. That was reflected in a lot of of her cooking. It was bland. If it were veggies it was boiled to death, if it was meat, it was over-cooked. Other than that one short-coming, she was the greatest.
But the Home Improvement kids wouldn’t complain about Jill’s cooking if they had tasted my Mom’s.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Not for that, Dry. I forget from where exactly I got the recipe, but I meant to say the reason why I eeven searched for the recipe to begin with was because I wanted a taste of home. My mother never actually made a tortiere from scratch. She always went store-bought with the frozen La Bell Fermiere brands popular in Montreal.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Dry, speaking of reiman publications, I used to work with them a lot. I was one of their field editors on the mag called Country Discoveries and had a number of articles and pics pulblished in that mag as well as Country and Counry Extra.

Okay, no sandwiches or Mac & Cheese for Grog!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Cleo I remembered that! That was one of the reasons I mentioned it! :-)
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
LuvH8, it all depends on WHAT’S in the sandwich. But if it’s PB, PB&J, balony, salami or processed cheese, no thanks. I’d rather go to MacD’s - and I don’t like that either, but it’s a very small step in the right direction.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
LuvH8, my Mom was good with Turkey and the gravy that went with it. I know her secret there and apply the principle to what ever kind of gravy I make.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Nope, not making you any sandwiches. Not ever! (Just to be safe.) I like peanut butter (the real stuff with just peanuts and a little bit of salt) and jelly sandwiches on wheat bread.
That’s nice Grog. My secret is if it tastes right you made it right.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
That’s OK, as long as I’ve got the right stuff, I can make my own. I like to heat my sandwiches up in the microwave for a bit - just enough to melt that pepper jack! I like to use whole wheat buns, but can be swayed there.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago

Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I never did get into cottage cheese. My fav’s are Vermont strong cheddar, Canadian strong chedar and pepper jack.
