Carmy, we’re supposed to get a lot of rain today, but it hasn’t happened yet…so I won’t complain. I know we’ll get it sooner or later.

Looks like there’s some fiarly heavy stuff going on just to the north of Pasadena (where I work). Also in Pearland and just south of Kemah and Eastern League City. I would think Galveston is getting some pretty heavy rain to but I can’t see it on my weather map.

Good evening everyone. Grog you sound like my hubby when he finally retired he put in 36 years at a local aircraft co plant 30 years of heat treat, 5 to 6 years of handformin and working on plugs. His back looks like he did heat treat from all that bending. I wished he put a few more years in, he decided on a truck 3 years prior to retirement. Then finally paid that off 2 months ago, got title, 1 block from home, suv hit him on the Rt side, hubby okay but truck not.

Now that it’s over land it’ll die into a tropical storm, then finally into a low pressure system

The forecast track doesn’t look like it’s heading out to sea or the ocean again, where it could once again gain strength.

Kab, I’ve been at it over 32 years, most all of it with the same company, though my years of service transferred over to my new company. I’m getting to the point where I’ve had enough, and I’d like to get out before they unload the business on another company and we have to endure another round systems overhalls and changes to the way we do things.

By the way, glad your hubby’s OK, Kab.

Yes he is he goes to Heart Dr. Friday, I will take him not sure if I will bring him back so our son may have to. With Heart Dr.’s never know if an emercgy will take place and I work pt afternoon. My hubby would understand about company take over to. It’s happened where he worked at a few times the worst one when one wanted a tax write off and the aircraft com was down worse then now but now it’s just as worse. For half the workers have been let go. As my boss would tell me when I get over whelmed and trying to get paperwork put up, and I dislike backtracking, hang in there.

Grog I just wish I could get a full time. But looks like I need higher education and I’m not sure how we can swing this don’t like going in debt.

My concern is that past & present buyers truly don’t under stand the business. When they fail to achieve results, they put it up for sale.

Hi again. I’m back for a little while.

Real life can sometimes be a pain. Tonight is my last night off. I was off for 5 nights and did that ever go fast. I’m listed to work for the next 8 nights, maybe longer and I’m not looking forward to it. I really wish I could get out of here, or at least get a vacation. I’ve worked there for more than 6 years and so far have gotten 3 days vacation.

Well enough of that or everyone will think all I can do is complain.

Just popping in to say “Hi” and “Good night.” Not feeling great tonight, still need to rustle up something to eat, or I’ll wake up hungry in the middle of the night. Then I’ll have heartburn, and be up even more.

Grog - I’m glad you’re north of Alex! I’m also glad Alex isn’t hitting Houston, because they were holding onto the title until the check clears, so it would be a pain if their files got destroyed.

Did you guys see the pictures I posted of the prisoners mowing grass? My hubby got off the exit and drove on the frontage road so I could take those pictures. Figured it might be a good motivator when my son complains about how rough he has it! Take care!

Grog I do understand what you are saying. Where I work at is not in sales. And for privacy sake I won’t say where or what type. Not advertising. It makes one wonder why most big bosses don’t work with long timers and opt for younger ones. I guess they think they have better ideas. Where I work at we have paper trials to prepare for scanning. And one group not for scanning. Myself I would like bigger and more responisbilitie not gonna happen only Admin Assist gets that and I’m only a Receptionist and Office Specialist not up to code.

I did most of my higher education at night while working my day job. With 7 courses left to go, I took an 8 month leave of absense to finish it off. At that time the company paid 100% of my expenses as long as I passed.

I you can land a full time job, you may want to inquire. You may be surprised how quickly you can move within the company, just by being in such a program.

Grog for ones who work full time the place I work at would honor that but I’m only pt and there are no perks at all. I’ve seen full time allowed to leave a little early after reporting to their supervisior about getting classes in for their degree. The Admin Assist herself lacked 17 credit hours to get her degree and she never finished. She is as high up in her position and practically runs the dept. I’ve told her if she where to get a different position as Admin Assist she would need a higher degree. But she lives to close to where she works and been there 17 years. She worked up to this position.

Rmom, there is no doubt that there would have been damage in the Houston area, but I think the most devastating damage would be in the coastal areas, like Galveston, Kemah & Seabrook.

I haven’t had a chance to look at your photos yet, but I’ll try to take a look this weekend.

Do you take the purple pill for your heart burn? I do.
