Was there ever a cuter girl in the comics than Andrea?
Good morning, Tribe!
I finally got back from Dallas shortly after midnight, that is, somewhat more than half an hour ago. Not even unpacked yet. One place I stopped with my friends was the Hard Rock Cafe (for lunch).
Please welcome (for this week at least) the supplier of CocoMocha to this fine establishment, Chris Alan Starbright, Blademaster Level Five. See the avatar on the left.
Ladywolf It’s so nice that you care about my appetite.
I was just a little upset by Pete and his naivete.
LuvH8 I’ll go back to my old avatar until I get back.
I’m doing a yacht delivery from Oakland to San Diego, starting tomorrow. See you Friday or Saturday.
Greetings, Ladywolf! Thanks for welcoming my friend so warmly.
The full photo is here; the very strange (but very true) story of the character’s creation is here. The song that his then-fiancee Autumn Harvest Selene “wrote for him” (obviously it was my creation) is on the page too, at the bottom.
LADYWOLF Once again you bless the table with your wonderful cooking, to say nothing of your wonderful presence.How.d you keep KITTY from eating everything especially the shrimp? Don’t they have a leash law where LUVH8 lives? I’d send my male over to teach that overgrown (you didn’t give him DOC’S coffee, did you?) flea bag, but my cuddly wuddly is taking a nap. Speaking of coffee, I’ll have a cup of the good **DOC TOON’S REVITALIZING MIRACLE ELIXER please. And if someone tells me that overgrown feline drank it all, I’m sending over a card carrying member of the violin stringers union.
Morning TRIBE!My feelings for KITTY have nothing to do with green eyed monsters.
Rmom - Yes because at the time they had changed rules making it actualy cheaper. As I was trying to start a business of my own and had “company checks” I was able to get it. There’s a lot less people there at 7:00 and shorter check out lines!
Sojo - Ah, that explains it. Yes, it would be a lot less crowded then. It is rare that I get up and around that early, but there’s been a few times I wished I could get in at 9am. I do avoid going on Saturday, Sunday & evenings as much as possible to any store in Wichita. Even after 3:45, the stores get pretty busy, so if I can, I shop before then. But with the distance I live from town, I usually have a long list of places to go, so I can’t always get there before the schools & the 1st shift at the plants get out for the day.
Rmom I remember one Halloween night several years ago that the checkout lines actually went all the way to the back of the store. I found out they had a lot of collage students employed and they had checked with all of them the day before to see if they would be at work. However, almost all called in “sick” to go to parties and there was almost no one at work! Only had a few checkout lines open.
~Joke Warning~
A 7th grade Biology teacher arranged a demonstration for his class. He took two earthworms and in front of the class he did the following:
He dropped the first worm into a beaker of water where it dropped to the bottom and wriggled about. He dropped the second worm into a beaker of Ethyl alcohol and it immediately shriveled up and died. He asked the class if anyone knew what this demonstration was intended to show them. A boy in the second row immediately shot his arm up and, when called on said: “You’re showing us that if you drink alcohol, you won’t have worms.”
I’ve learned to avoid going the day before a holiday. I just thought it seemed busier because people were stocking up for having company over. I hadn’t thought about the shortage of cashiers being due to “illness”.
Rmom - Good joke - LOL! Reminds me of a biology class a friend of mine went to. One of his friends had been brought up to not be afraid to eat anything, They were disecting worms, most were ‘discussted by it and he said he wouldn’t mind eating it. The teacher bet him five dollars, so he did. The boy offered the teacher the same deal so he wouldn’t have to pay him. The teacher tried and threw up in front of the class!
@RMom - ~Deep thought~
If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
IMHO - I would say it’s because love is blind, but lust isn’t and many people can’t tell the diff. (Although having both for the same person can be very good, if not taken too extreme on the lust end)
Sojo - LOL! I’ve always been a finicky eater, but never looked underfed. My 3rd grade teacher at Funston, was one of those types that thought children needed to eat everything on their plates. Each day, I’d eat what I wanted, and had to sit in the lunchroom instead of going out to recess. The final day the school cafeteria served lunch, she stood over me, insisting that I ate everything. I did, but then promptly threw it all back up - over the plate, the table, etc. When I got home at the end of the day, I told my mom. She said, “Served her right!”
I thought Deep Though was that ultimate computer in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy who’s answer to the ultimate question about the meaning of life and everything was 42.
Rmom, read the book or see the show. Either way, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I read the book some time ago and bought the DVD last year. 180min approx long, but hardly a dull moment.
RwB - Thanks for the heads up. I rarely make a 2nd round after I comment.
Grog - Right now I’m avoiding pleasure reading (or watching) since I’ve got work around the house that needs done. I’ll have to add it to my list, although it doesn’t seem like the type of genre I prefer.
I’m trying to find better internet access. It really is a sucky location. And of course, my internet access for looking for internet access is slow!!!!!
No, I is not having fun. It would be helpful if I knew for sure which services would even work out here!
WARNING! WARNING!
One day in court, the prosecuting lawyer asked the farmer on the witness stand, “At the scene of the accident, did you tell the policeman you had never felt better in your life?”
“That’s right.” The farmer replied.
“Well, then, how is it that you are now claiming you were seriously injured when my client’s auto hit your wagon?”
The farmer explained. “When the policeman arrived, he went over to my horse, who had a broken leg, and shot him. Then he went over to Rover, my dog, who was all banged up, and shot him. When he asked me how I felt, I just thought, under the circumstances, it was a wise choice of words to say I’ve never felt better in my life.”
DFrog - Thanks for the link. I’m not very good with Canadian geography, but I do have plenty of maps. I’ve learned most of my non-USA geography by following the world travels in my family. However, other than Niagara Falls & Toronto, our family hasn’t traveled much in Canada.
I didn’t know Calgary was called “Cowtown”. Wichita has a Cowtown - they moved several of the original buildings there, and made into a tourist/field trip attraction. Of course, there are several other cities in the western half of the U.S. where cattle are bought & sold.
Doc - LOL! My birthday this year will probably be extremely low-key. I’m thinking of baking my own cake this weekend, just so hubby won’t get it in his head to do it himself. Bless his heart, he tries, but he’s just not great at it. We usually have to serve it in chunks instead of slices if he bakes it. Since mine is in the middle of the week, we’ll probably have a normal day like any other. I’ll be doing good to get some b-day cards.
Doc - That’s what you get for living in a household full of women. Women are the ones who plan parties. Which is why I won’t be having one. That’s what I get for living in a household of males.
Grog - I don’t mind admitting my age or enjoying attention, but I don’t expect much either. With homeschooling, I always gave my sons’ birthdays as a school holiday, unless we had a group homeschooling activity the same day. With mine, sometimes it is a holiday, sometimes not. It just depends on when it falls, and if I have any plans scheduled. Mine is exactly a week before my oldest son’s birthday, so I have been less likely to take it off, compared to if it was sometime when I needed an extra day off for “mental health” reasons.
More often than not, I do not get the day off, Rmom, unless it falls on the week-end. Though I have every intention of taking it off this year, it is not the norm, because it falls during the busy budget cyce. Time off for any reason on any day is hard to come by.
Grog - When I worked full-time, I didn’t usually take off mine either, unless it fell on the weekend, of course. At least mine isn’t on April 15th, or any other big day for accountants.
This will probably be the first year that I won’t have any in-person celebration with any of my siblings, although they’ll probably send me birthday cards still. The celebrations were usually on the weekend, but unless my husband really surprises me, I think both weekends (before & after) will be fairly routine.

Cocoa is a cutie. Best thing is that both of my chihuahuas are puppies, so they will grow up together.

Getting ready for pool. I’ll be back before I leave.

Hi, EMET, Terry & Ladywolf! Grog - Is it because you don’t want to get older, or you don’t like the attention? (Or both?)
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I did, ♠Lonewolf♠ and sent a reply.

Hi Rmom :-)

See you in a little while I need to rest my wrist.

See you later, Ladywolf

Ladywolf - Take care of that wrist, and don’t overwork it!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
More often than not, I do not get the day off, Rmom, unless it falls on the week-end. Though I have every intention of taking it off this year, it is not the norm, because it falls during the busy budget cyce. Time off for any reason on any day is hard to come by.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Grog - When I worked full-time, I didn’t usually take off mine either, unless it fell on the weekend, of course. At least mine isn’t on April 15th, or any other big day for accountants. This will probably be the first year that I won’t have any in-person celebration with any of my siblings, although they’ll probably send me birthday cards still. The celebrations were usually on the weekend, but unless my husband really surprises me, I think both weekends (before & after) will be fairly routine.

Well, I’d better get some things done away from the computer.
