LADYWOLF Magoo, you’ve done it again. Menu 1–Pizza, hope it’s cold. Menu 2–Everything, please and use a big scoop Menu 3–DOC’S NUC COFFEE* seeing that he still hasn’t completed the pipeline to my house. He using union labor?

Still no AC and the usually unreliable sources are predicting record breaking heat. I got busted for loitering at the supermarket. I’m going to try DMV today. No one would suspect me there for spending the day.

Morning TRIBE! Opinions expressed during a heat wave with no AC are the opinions of a fool who doesn’t understand what SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED is going to do to make my life miserable for the rest of the summer.

Good Morning Tribe Hmmm, lotsa breakfast left over here. Everything looks absolutely delicious, Ladywolf Steak, medium well, fried taters, diet Dr. Pepper and for dessert a large bowl of butterscotch ice cream with hot fudge and caramel topping.

Wow, just looking at the feast on my desk is making me sleepy. I think I just may eat and snoozle.

Mornin’ Doc if you’re still there. I’m bouncing back and forth between my jewelry and here and eventually the kitchen. Dr Who is on BBC right now, all this season’s episodes running right up to the season finale at 9pm tonight.

I was glancing over some of your postings yesterday. How can you be full time (35+ hrs/week) if you’re doing good to get 20-25? Something smells like Denmark here.

Already hot here, heat index warnings are out. Keep cool, Doc

Union? Oh yeah, they’re trying to unionize Wal-Mart, or they did unionize it, or whatever. Our Long Beach office is unionized, it’s like a robot society, no one answers the phone between 10 & 10:15am and between 3 & 3:15pm. My company is worldwide and we have a worldwide computer system. Every person in my ‘position’ can help my customers and update by bookings whether they be in my office, New York, Manchester UK or Hong Kong. However, if you make the tinest change or put in a memo indicating you spoke with a customer and gave updated vessel information the Union claims we have ‘stolen’ their work and are entitled to charge the company 8 hours for a 1-2 minute phone call while their office was closed (they open 11:30am EDT), God forbid we provide good customer service to their customers, they deserve to wait until they finish their coffee and open up their switchboard. I shudder to think what will happen should there be an earthquake which closes the office for days on end (Like Houston after IKE)

Boy, have I rattled on. BUt in my industry it seems the Union with their rules hinder rather than enhance good customer service.

    Back to the jewelry…….

That is true about unions being a touchy issue. My issue is the one I deal with the most seems to impede the very point of the job, customer service.

In the news this week was the port of Montreal lockout of the port labor. They have the sweetest deal, paid a full week whether they work 40 hours or 1 hour. We had to divert three ships to the port of Halifax , but fortunately only one was discharging when an interim deal was struck (basically the Port will let them in and they’re both gonna seriously talk). We reloaded the ship which was discharging because that was cheaper than trying to rail/truck it to Montreal. The Port of Montreal is the only port that has such a sweet deal, and it’s just not economically viable in this day and age.

(and to those who take joy in pouncing on little deviations, this is a simple statement of what is in the news, not my opinion, which would probably irritate at least 50% of the group)

on the bright side, hot dogs and chili are cooking on the stove, and then I will have a nice nap.

I’m back….too hot to do much traipsing about.

Though about Lonewolf on my journey, I drive past the local pool parlor ( The Shady Lady) about half the time I go out. There were signs advertising leagues needing amateurs. I enjoy the occasional pool game. Back in college I used to play pool a lot down in the Commons which was between Kreuger and Dunn Halls at Texas A&M. While I wasn’t anywhere near excellent I was good enough to prove a challenge to at least 1/3 of the gang.

So I’m off to do chores and make jewelry while watching Dr Who. Checking in later.

Good evening everyone or who ever is here. Had a busy morning late start and very hot. The three of us sweat pour off, hubby and daughter more then me. Went to county zoo was disappointed animals where sleeping as so hot. There are a couple places that where cooler for humans, then went to see brand new hospital that is done for a tour, told them I tried for receptionist for the ones that would hire, I told them someone who works within said they would only hire ones fresh out of college. This is a hospital and I’m not qualified for that. I think we walked all together more then 3 miles. We have severe thunderstorms some thunder but no rain yet. Channel I was going to watch cops on had baseball and I don’t care for that.

Sojourner we all felt that 100 degree tempature. The main benifit all the walking. Though we cooled down at the new hospital. Since you live in W Wichita you know which one I refer to. One more open house for Sunday. Staff all greated everyone and there is a guy using a gulf cart to help people to cars. I guess I had better call it a night. After we got home I was so tired I dozed on couch just hope I can sleep tonight otherwise I will be reading.
