Watch out, it’s Pamela Mae Snap (from BREWSTER ROCKIT)!
And greetings, Fellow Tribesters!
LuvH8, you did such a magnificent job with the breakfast menu on such short notice that I’ve proposed to the Boss that he and two of his Special Forces should come in this morning.
Between the four of us, we should order at least one of everything you have that doesn’t have pork in it. Get ready, the big guys (jet-haired Slate and golden-haired Hilo) have BIG appetites (they should, they’re seven feet tall).
Ah hah, here they are… and how special, Autumn’s love song for Chris Alan is playing as they enter… no wonder, Autumn’s here too…
Had the wrong photo linked, but that’s been corrected now. As I may have mentioned before, I used the action figures for Deuce (WWE wrestler), Alex Pettyfer (playing Alex Rider) and Ken (from Street Fighter) as models for my characters Slate Rockmire, Chris Alan Starbright and Hilo Whitemoon, respectively. (However, Chris Alan and his general appearance were already fixed in my mind before I ever saw Alex Pettyfer on film.)
Whew! I finally passed a major stage of review of the MS. of a proposed book featuring these characters and others. My co-author is taking her turn at reviewing the epic, as I speak.

hello Ladyhawk
Figured I would, LuvH8
It’s been phun and phunnie today, BUT I gotta go. BBL ‘cause I want to check to see if Mr Bluemel has any comments onwhat happened at his toon.
RMOM They put us under tomato watch again. Dem sneaky neighbors of mine tried leaving a bag at my door last night. How do I stop the onslaught of zucchini gifts.
Lew - I’ll take free tomatoes. They’re always good for using in chili or something. Zucchini on the other hand isn’t good for anything in my opinion. My mom used to grate it up and stick it in all sorts of things to get rid of it. Sort of like “magical” brownies, but without the special effects.
Hi, Wolfie! How’s your day going? I just posted on PB last night one more quilt and the pictures from the restaurant I ate at last week with my hubby.
Sojo - After last week when the weather alarm woke us up at 3am with an Amber Alert, I changed that alarm (in my hubby’s trailer) to the type of setting you have. With his alarm going off at 5am, he doesn’t need to be woke up in the middle of the night for anything that doesn’t require him to evacuate. I thought tornado season was over for here! The ones here in the house still make the sound, but not for the weekly tests.
In High School I thought of how the signals could be selectively set and wondered why they didn’t (another invention idea I never pursued). In the 80’s at work 3ed shift the alarm went of 13 times between mid-night and 5:00 a.m. Not once was there even a severe T-storm in our county. How would you like to have an operation by a surgeon kept awake all night for nothing? No wonder they weren’t used much until now.
Sojo - We’ve got one of those early alarms in the basement. I keep it in our hidey hole under the stairs, so if our internet goes out, we can still have some idea of what the weather is doing. I try to keep a battery-powered AM/FM radio there, too, but like having both options available. I am glad they’ve changed them so they can be more selective. I wish they had them so you could pick what type of notification for which type of alert. Flash flood watches & warnings, the light & display would be enough for me all of the time. The alarm in our bedroom I would have it only sound for tornado warnings. The one in our kitchen/main living area can sound for all alerts the counties I select. In other words, I’m glad they’ve improved them, but there’s still more room left for tweeking.
Sojo - You need to tell the senior citizens at your church that you’ll take unwanted zucchini. You may get more than you want, but I’m guessing there will be a few gardeners at least who will supply you. That’s one thing we missed when we left one church. There was a guy who grew tomatoes for shows, and he had to have them in “matched sets” - I can’t remember how many in the set of tomatoes, but he had to have matching ones - same size, shape, etc. So he had lots and lots of tomato plants, and would bring his surplus to church. My husband really enjoyed them. I only like tomatoes once they’re “adulterated” - salsa, tomato soup, sauces, etc., and I have to be careful about the seeds. So I was happy that my hubby could have some tasty tomatoes for free and no work on my part!
Sojo - Sounds like the storms are north of us right now, but pretty close. Golf ball sized hail. My sons are in Andover right now, so far, so good. At least I got hold of them to tell them about the tornado watch, and I’m sure the college will herd them if there’s danger. I hope the van they took doesn’t get damaged bad - we only have liability on it.
My alarm lets you select which alerts and counties you want except tornado warnings for your county. If you sleept in a basement you might be interested in flood warnings but not interested in tornado warnings. I quess that bugs me because it makes me fell like I’m too stupid to know what I want and the goverenment has to decide for me.
Rmom - I can hear thunder and see some storms NW of us and I think there moving NE. I’ll check a larger looping radar to see whats going on. I have a small local radar shot that updates every few minutes on my desktop like a gadget. Awhile back if you were in a store and a tornado warning went off they could force you to stay there. When people threatened to sue the law was changed to allow those who wanted to leave to be able to.
It seems like the storms are moving E. N ICT might be hit. They are developing slightly to the S so all of ICT might end up getting it. Looks like the worst might be headed toward Hopeandjoy2.
Sojo - Hope&joy might get something out of this. It doesn’t look like the storms up around Topeka are as severe though, the tornado watch area is south of there. Just a matter of paying attention.
Local news should be starting now so I’ll check that tp see whats happening. It’s developing rapidly, don;t know if we’ll be hit before it leaves our area.
I am SO glad I didn’t go to the state fair today! I really thought about it, because since the youngest has his college class today, I don’t make him do any school work at home on Wednesdays.
Rmom, it’s looking like rain here right now and the forecast is for thunder storms off and on throughout the night and light showers in the am until noon.
Sojo - Our basement isn’t very large, but yes, I wouldn’t want to live without one. When I’ve looked for houses near my hubby’s job, they don’t have hardly any with basements - at least ones that don’t leak. I’ve just seen enough tornado damage, that is one of my “must-have” features.
They just said there is a bad wreck at Kellogg (Hwy 54) & Seneca, and people have to get off of Kellogg. I’m glad I’m not out driving in this! Rush hour traffic & a windy, hail storm isn’t a good combination.
This storm could get pretty nasty for Sojo, and maybe Kab. There’s been funnel clouds on the radar, but not developed enough to call a tornado warning. Lots of hail reports - baseball to quarter sized. I think it will all stay north of me, but our van that my sons took to school might get some hail damage.
Rmom, when I was in the Army, I lived off base in a mobile trailer for a year. We went through some nasty storms in that thing. I’ll NEVER do that a gain!
I’m at they edge of the approching storm and the worst part may hit soon. It’s now moving more SW so I may luck out and have a light part of the middle of the two cells hit where I am and miss the hail. Some baseball size is around the area.
Wolfie - While we were building this house, we lived in a trailer house. Only once did I go to the park’s shelter, but between the torrential rain & spiders, it wasn’t pleasant. My hubby’s on a business trip right now, but if a bad storm is headed toward him when he’s in the trailer, he drives up to his workplace. He’s got keys, so he can always get in. There isn’t a basement there, but at least the walls are cement, and he can go into the restroom or another small interior room. (His office has a window.)
♠Lonewolf♠ - LOL - I lived in a mobil home in the country for a few years. I went through a lot of bad storms but it was nice living outside the city. Hear and see some small hail now.
Hello again Tribe including Rmom, Kab, Sojo, Luv, Lonewolf, Montanalady, RwB, Grog, Doc Toon, Frankr and you know who you are
No warnings or watches for our area which has been dark and damp all day..thunder etc. We are east and just a little south of KC. Hope what you are seeing doesn’t come here
Sounds like tennis ball sized for Kab’s area. Starting to look like the storm is going to come my way, instead of staying north. I’m going to fix me some supper now, just in case the power goes out a little bit later. Whoa! Must be getting close - the thunder shook the house! BBL.
Hi Lonewolf! You did “good” at pool! Daughter in law is perking along and wanted to come home today!!! She is in her own room and will arrive back home tomorrow—2 days after brain surgery…wow!
Be careful around Wichita with storms…we are still just getting thunder and more rain and no severe stuff. Olathe area is having a noisy time.
Had some tennis ball maybe baseball hail. Only landing about every ten feet and real soft so no damage. New cell may miss to the other side of me and may be weakening anyway. Tornado warning now but it is the part of storm that has already passed me.
Haysville is futher south of us not sure which part of Haysville and it’s moving on.
I think we got the system from earlier that was in Goddard. Looks like hail has calmed down. Lots of rain.
Tornado 7 miles west of Derby. Power out at 71st and broadway. Emergency mangement reports between Derby and Haysville. Showing to on TV.
North east section near Piedmont and Beaumnont.
New cell is passing over me and almost past. Hail is quarter size at largest size and no wind. Seems like I lucked out with most of it missing me. I don’t think Kab was as fortionate and may be heading toward Rmom.
I headed down to the basement when I heard my area included. According to the map, the tornado warning ends just west of where I’m at, but it is still a little too close to relax. My oldest son just called from school’s parking lot, I had to tell him to go insie the building and wait for his brother to get out of his class. (Their classes are in buildings about a mile apart.) Then he is to call me before they leave so I can tell them if it is safe to leave.
I totally missed out on Hopeandjoy2 news. People in Mulvane are suppose to take shelter tornado percautions.
Sirens no longer blowing. A lot of hail earlier.
At 47th and Hydraulic roof blown off.
Heading to more Derby and Rose Hill.
Thanks, Kab!
My son just called. I told him they need to stay in town until I call & tell him it is okay to come home. Just not much shelter between there & here.
Westar reporting 10,000 customers without power with telephone electric lines down. Roofs blown off near 47th and broadway. Haysville has very little power. Sparadic power reported in Haysville.
We have power here a lot of roof damages on mobile homes.
Still heading to Douglas, KS and Elk county near Gordon.
Passing Mulvane now brief tornado touch down. then back up. Greenwood county getting ready for it. All in KS.
Where done I hope. Can relax some and quite this weather forcasts.
Wow it’s a long system. moving further east. Augusta’s gonna get it.
I believe Mulvane is in clear now. Except for whatever damage.
BBS this was an adventure of weather type here in KS.
He better stay put let the system go by. Looked at cars there’s damaged not on windows but body.
Mad at my daughter to she has to put her car in shelter while mine gets hamered.
Where safe here tornado’s I believe they counted 4 south of us not sure of how many miles.
All three of my bosses will be gone tomorrow for Topeka for conferences.
I told my daughter earlier while caous was happening any window damage I take her car to work.
We need a carport not sure can afford one.
Rmom how are you doing now.
Also hail was not like cantalope’s seemed like watermellom, kidding actuall from hen eggs to softballs size.
It’s now calm here and cooling down fast.
The Sojourner your right about Rmom are danger is over with. I’m also waiting to hear from her. It’s cooled down real nice.
Power is coming back for a lot of folks. Hope Rmom has hers.
Just heard Winfield is getting hit hard. Not sure when we will hear from Rmom hope all is okay with her.
I gotta clear off hubby needs computer. I do have a new lap top bougth from Best Buy two weekends ago. Had a great sell sold out in 10 mins.
Oregon is nice. No blizzards, tornados, hurricanes, droughts, poisonous snakes…. Hmmm kind of boring weatherwise but I am glad about the lack of poisonous snakes in this part of Oregon.
Hello all we are safe. Local news showed damage left by monster stom. The SojournerRmom I don’t know if you watch local news at 10pm that mobile home court that received damage off of S W street not far from us.
Hubby had computer for awhile. When laptop gets ready I will be able to access better. Now others around neighborhoods and other towns have clean up. Surrounding areas flooded due to flooding rain.
I won’t be on to much longer need to shower, then catch upon text book. By Friday hope to start next chapter in next book. Class on-line starts Monday.
Just popping in to let you all know we’re safe. We lost power for over 3 hours, which is why I couldn’t check in before. My sons made it home okay - but they didn’t think to take raincoats or umbrellas out of the van with them, so they got drenched. No broken windows that I can tell, and I didn’t go outside to see what other damage there might be.
Know the feeling news said there where 4 tornadoes and weatherman keep arguing what was shown was not a tornado look like one to me said no rotation.
From side of town my daughter and her guy choose I told them high area for tornado’s.
Hi, Wolfie! I’m not going to stay up much later. I took out my contacts while the power was still off, because the estimate I was given was that we wouldn’t get power back on until after midnight. Trying to read the computer screen with my bifocals is difficult.
Hi, Kab! Just trying to take a quick look at the local news websites before I head to bed.
It was rather spooky looking here for a while - the bottom layer of clouds were moving west, and the top layer was going east at the same time!
Looks like a tornado hit Winfield, according to channel 12. That’s where my hubby & I eat every weekend. The reports are still coming in, but I think it was east of downtown. The people who are already there for the Bluegrass Festival got some high winds, but sounds like other than some awnings, they are okay on the campgrounds.
Pop So much rain here and thunder but nothing severe…Glad you have made it through..Rmom that hail was from your storm tonight? Whopper bopper! Glad you are o.k. and kab hope your car is o.k.
I need a good night’s sleep…bet you do too!
Oregon is a pretty state, LuvH8
My grandson said the best summer of his life was in New England Frankr when his school sent him there to play collegiate baseball for the Pittsfield, Mass team…they had Sun delays there because of the way the diamond and field faced.
My car will have to survive main thing no window damage.
Rmom when you read this you where among 10,000 with no power then 7,000 2 hours later. Hope everyone has power. Wow I hope not to see that again to soon.
We have a bi-level so no real haven from tornadoes.
I’ll unfortunty be up for awhile need to read. Prepare for On-line college. I feel there will be a real chanlege to get future tests done. Need to have enough work done from texts so instructors will know I worked hard.
Rmom your right about that I imagine Goddard got worse. My daughter’s guy (still mad at my opinionated girl) took pictures told him send to TV stations.

Hello Bmonk, I am glad you were able to greet yourself. How are you today? Oh, and here is your pumkin pie.

[He he he!]
So far the rice paper seems to be handling the Nuclear Coffee.
Maybe it has it confused?
I like to greet myself once in a while. It proves I’m still on speaking terms with me.

Hi, tribe! Sojo - Did you see they just put us under a tornado watch until 10pm?
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Rmom - No, I hadn’t noticed but I just looked at my weather radio (due to your comment) and noticed the yellow flashing light. Thanks!
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good afternoon, Tribe!
lewisbower about 14 years ago
RMOM They put us under tomato watch again. Dem sneaky neighbors of mine tried leaving a bag at my door last night. How do I stop the onslaught of zucchini gifts.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hi ♠Lonewolf♠ - Lunch break?
Hi Lewreader - If you knew the answer to that you’d be worth over a million dollars!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Lew - I’ll take free tomatoes. They’re always good for using in chili or something. Zucchini on the other hand isn’t good for anything in my opinion. My mom used to grate it up and stick it in all sorts of things to get rid of it. Sort of like “magical” brownies, but without the special effects.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, Sojo, Rmom & Sir Lew!
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Sojo, a little late again! LOL
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
The ones here in the house still make the sound, but not for the weekly tests.
ldyhwkd about 14 years ago
Afternoon Everyone!
Lew - sneak them into the office? If I were closer, I’d take some. I enjoy them fresh in salads and we also use them in stews.
Lonewolf - congrats for last night’s win.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
In High School I thought of how the signals could be selectively set and wondered why they didn’t (another invention idea I never pursued). In the 80’s at work 3ed shift the alarm went of 13 times between mid-night and 5:00 a.m. Not once was there even a severe T-storm in our county. How would you like to have an operation by a surgeon kept awake all night for nothing? No wonder they weren’t used much until now.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ - Glad I was just reminded - Congrats on Pool last night!
(Thanks Ladyhawk)
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, Ladyhawk. Thank you! :^)

George Arnold about 14 years ago
I also like zucchini and used to be able to get some at work. It’s usually too expensive at the store, if you could send some down here I’d take some.
See you later ♠Lonewolf♠.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Wolfie - Congrats!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
See you later, Wolfie!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Sounds like the storms are north of us right now, but pretty close. Golf ball sized hail. My sons are in Andover right now, so far, so good. At least I got hold of them to tell them about the tornado watch, and I’m sure the college will herd them if there’s danger. I hope the van they took doesn’t get damaged bad - we only have liability on it.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
My alarm lets you select which alerts and counties you want except tornado warnings for your county. If you sleept in a basement you might be interested in flood warnings but not interested in tornado warnings. I quess that bugs me because it makes me fell like I’m too stupid to know what I want and the goverenment has to decide for me.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I just heard there was “baseball” sized hail in Reno County.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Rmom - I can hear thunder and see some storms NW of us and I think there moving NE. I’ll check a larger looping radar to see whats going on. I have a small local radar shot that updates every few minutes on my desktop like a gadget. Awhile back if you were in a store and a tornado warning went off they could force you to stay there. When people threatened to sue the law was changed to allow those who wanted to leave to be able to.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I agree that I think WE ought to be the ones to decide which alerts we want to receive and in which form.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
It seems like the storms are moving E. N ICT might be hit. They are developing slightly to the S so all of ICT might end up getting it. Looks like the worst might be headed toward Hopeandjoy2.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Hope&joy might get something out of this. It doesn’t look like the storms up around Topeka are as severe though, the tornado watch area is south of there. Just a matter of paying attention.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Local news should be starting now so I’ll check that tp see whats happening. It’s developing rapidly, don;t know if we’ll be hit before it leaves our area.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I have KNSS on, so I’m hearing constant coverage from them. As long as my internet stays up, I can keep an eye on the radar.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Oooo! It looks like a severe storm is heading towards Sojo & Kab!
George Arnold about 14 years ago
The way there developing I think we will be hit.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
I am SO glad I didn’t go to the state fair today! I really thought about it, because since the youngest has his college class today, I don’t make him do any school work at home on Wednesdays.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Do you have a basement handy?
George Arnold about 14 years ago
It’s still dry at the state fair. It looks like they will miss all of it.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
I’m baaa………………..aaack!
Rmom, it’s looking like rain here right now and the forecast is for thunder storms off and on throughout the night and light showers in the am until noon.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Yes. That was one thing I wanted.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I was thinking of the drive in between especially. I probably would have been heading home around now.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hi again ♠Lonewolf♠.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Good to hear! Stay safe!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Hi, Wolfie! - Sounds like Kab’s area is getting hail right now. I heard baseball & hen’s eggs size earlier, not sure what size her area is getting.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
In that case it wouldn’t be good. If you left the fair a couple hours from know youd be fine.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
It’s starting to rain now.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Our basement isn’t very large, but yes, I wouldn’t want to live without one. When I’ve looked for houses near my hubby’s job, they don’t have hardly any with basements - at least ones that don’t leak. I’ve just seen enough tornado damage, that is one of my “must-have” features.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Rmom, I was thinking that same thing and I didn’t want to leave it up too long. :^)
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Since my night vision isn’t the best, I try to avoid driving after dark. I’m not sure I’d see deer in time.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
They just said there is a bad wreck at Kellogg (Hwy 54) & Seneca, and people have to get off of Kellogg. I’m glad I’m not out driving in this! Rush hour traffic & a windy, hail storm isn’t a good combination.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
This storm could get pretty nasty for Sojo, and maybe Kab. There’s been funnel clouds on the radar, but not developed enough to call a tornado warning. Lots of hail reports - baseball to quarter sized. I think it will all stay north of me, but our van that my sons took to school might get some hail damage.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Rmom, when I was in the Army, I lived off base in a mobile trailer for a year. We went through some nasty storms in that thing. I’ll NEVER do that a gain!
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I’m at they edge of the approching storm and the worst part may hit soon. It’s now moving more SW so I may luck out and have a light part of the middle of the two cells hit where I am and miss the hail. Some baseball size is around the area.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Wolfie - While we were building this house, we lived in a trailer house. Only once did I go to the park’s shelter, but between the torrential rain & spiders, it wasn’t pleasant. My hubby’s on a business trip right now, but if a bad storm is headed toward him when he’s in the trailer, he drives up to his workplace. He’s got keys, so he can always get in. There isn’t a basement there, but at least the walls are cement, and he can go into the restroom or another small interior room. (His office has a window.)
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Sojo, did you catch my comment which i have since deleted?
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - Just let us know when it’s over that you’re okay. Since you have a basement, I won’t be too worried.
I’m starting to hear thunder now.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ - LOL - I lived in a mobil home in the country for a few years. I went through a lot of bad storms but it was nice living outside the city. Hear and see some small hail now.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ - No.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I’m hearing your area is getting pea to marble sized hail. That isn’t too bad, probably won’t cause much damage.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ ok
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hail is getting heaver and larger.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Sojo - - - Drop me a line when you get a chance.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ - Okay
Largest hail was only about dime size but about covered the ground. Rain was very heavy but not much wind. Right now it’s letting up.

Hope what you are seeing doesn’t come here
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, Hopeandjoy2!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sounds like tennis ball sized for Kab’s area. Starting to look like the storm is going to come my way, instead of staying north. I’m going to fix me some supper now, just in case the power goes out a little bit later. Whoa! Must be getting close - the thunder shook the house! BBL.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Hi Lonewolf! You did “good” at pool! Daughter in law is perking along and wanted to come home today!!! She is in her own room and will arrive back home tomorrow—2 days after brain surgery…wow!
Be careful around Wichita with storms…we are still just getting thunder and more rain and no severe stuff. Olathe area is having a noisy time.

kab2rb about 14 years ago
Rmom sirens did blow here but more to Haysville and Cowley county.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ - Thanks. I’ll send more soon.
Had some tennis ball maybe baseball hail. Only landing about every ten feet and real soft so no damage. New cell may miss to the other side of me and may be weakening anyway. Tornado warning now but it is the part of storm that has already passed me.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Chanel 10 is actually showing the rotation looks like a tornado to me.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Haysville is futher south of us not sure which part of Haysville and it’s moving on. I think we got the system from earlier that was in Goddard. Looks like hail has calmed down. Lots of rain.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
confirmed funnel near Haysville dang that’s real close to us. From KS you all watching news. near 71st and broadway.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Tornado 7 miles west of Derby. Power out at 71st and broadway. Emergency mangement reports between Derby and Haysville. Showing to on TV. North east section near Piedmont and Beaumnont.
Sorry all this system makes me nervous.

Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
I’m in the basement now. I didn’t bring my full-sized keyboard, so I hope I don’t make typos!
George Arnold about 14 years ago
New cell is passing over me and almost past. Hail is quarter size at largest size and no wind. Seems like I lucked out with most of it missing me. I don’t think Kab was as fortionate and may be heading toward Rmom.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
I headed down to the basement when I heard my area included. According to the map, the tornado warning ends just west of where I’m at, but it is still a little too close to relax. My oldest son just called from school’s parking lot, I had to tell him to go insie the building and wait for his brother to get out of his class. (Their classes are in buildings about a mile apart.) Then he is to call me before they leave so I can tell them if it is safe to leave.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Thanks, hope&joy!
kab2rb about 14 years ago
No where not so fortunate hail was fairly big. With bi-level no protection. Try to contact if hubby thinks needed. oh no hailing again.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
I’ve only got the weather radio to listen to down here - has the tornado on the ground damaged anything?
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Haysville has received power outages and down limbs. Not like they experienced over 10 years ago when almost half the down got wiped out.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
News has been agreement and disagreement. spoters did spot tornado don’t know if went back in cloud. system is moving. Getting closer to you. Rmom
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I’m using regular tv dish went out. Near Mulvane earlier had a lowing of cloud. It looks like may slow down. Heading directly to Mulvane.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Past us. For tornadoes.
I totally missed out on Hopeandjoy2 news. People in Mulvane are suppose to take shelter tornado percautions. Sirens no longer blowing. A lot of hail earlier. At 47th and Hydraulic roof blown off. Heading to more Derby and Rose Hill.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Sorry all occuping to much of internet. system is going towards Douglass.
Looks like short north of Mulvane.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago

Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
That picture is on KAKE TV’s website - the hailstone fell in Wichita.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Thanks, Kab! My son just called. I told him they need to stay in town until I call & tell him it is okay to come home. Just not much shelter between there & here.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Correct. Weatherman say they don’t see tornando activity on radar.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Westar reporting 10,000 customers without power with telephone electric lines down. Roofs blown off near 47th and broadway. Haysville has very little power. Sparadic power reported in Haysville. We have power here a lot of roof damages on mobile homes.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
I’m going to run up & look out to see if there’s hail here. Need to grab a bite to eat too, I didn’t get time to get my supper fixed.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Still heading to Douglas, KS and Elk county near Gordon. Passing Mulvane now brief tornado touch down. then back up. Greenwood county getting ready for it. All in KS. Where done I hope. Can relax some and quite this weather forcasts. Wow it’s a long system. moving further east. Augusta’s gonna get it. I believe Mulvane is in clear now. Except for whatever damage.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Rmom between your area now heading twoards Udall and Akron. Tornado based cell.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
It just started hailing here. Small stuff when I was upstairs, but I can tell by the sounds, it’s larger now!
kab2rb about 14 years ago
It will get larger. Your right in the middle of it. Around 47st s. lots of damage. Be carefull there it got scary here.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I think where done here storms spoters agree started from Goddard. Let us know Rmom how your doing okay.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Blew the door open between the house & the garage. (It has done that before when it gets windy.) Had to run upstairs & lock it.

Best of luck to all of you in the danger area!

Hi, Frankr.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I told my daughter earlier while caous was happening any window damage I take her car to work. We need a carport not sure can afford one. Rmom how are you doing now. Also hail was not like cantalope’s seemed like watermellom, kidding actuall from hen eggs to softballs size. It’s now calm here and cooling down fast.

LuvH8: I live in historic New England, the land of steady habits, where the worst we have to fear is a few nor’easters and the occasional hurricane.

No earthquakes.

Hello all we are safe. Local news showed damage left by monster stom. The Sojourner Rmom I don’t know if you watch local news at 10pm that mobile home court that received damage off of S W street not far from us.

My grandson said the best summer of his life was in New England Frankr when his school sent him there to play collegiate baseball for the Pittsfield, Mass team…they had Sun delays there because of the way the diamond and field faced.

Hi, hope&joy! No, that hail stone was on one of the Wichita’s TV station’s websites. It fell closer to where Kab lives.
