No doubt yet another late lunch.

Sojo - It rained extremely hard in SE KS. I don’t think it lasted real long though, so probably not more than 1/2”. I couldn’t see any evidence at home (forgot to check the rain gauge) that it had rained here, but our soil here dries quickly.

Rmom - Sorry for the delay. I am installing updates. It was taking a lot longer then I expected and the update seemed to be stalled. Turns out there was another window wanting a question answered which didn’t show up to let me know. Turned out I had to check the taskbar for it! Way to go Microsoft. I had turned off this and other programs while installing.

Rmom - I had waterered the flowers in front of the porch Monday morning so what little we had helped.

Sojo - I understand about the updates, etc. taking longer than one expects. I’ve encountered basically the same thing myself.

Updates are supposed to do it all by themselves with no help from me, beyond clicking on the OK button.

@Sojo, I hate–or at least severely dislike–those “Stealth Windows”. Especially the ones that tie up all progress until you find the dern things!

But I can’t agree with DemonBaby–programmers are no better at being perfect and avoiding mistakes than the rest of us. My sister–a system tech for a largish company–once noticed that her computer was asking to install a program–only a later version of that program was already installed, and about to be overwritten. Causing no end of problems. So she wrote a stiff note to the company involved asking them, when automatic updates were sent out, why they didn’t bother to question the program involved which version was currently on the computer to be updated.

I have heard of many problems like that. I now have installed every thing except an optional update for a printer driver that won’t install. I don’t need it and the reason causing it may be because it is a USB device that I am connected to wirelessly. Sometime I’ll try to upgrade it when I connect the printer directly. The remote USB device I’m using said to have all drivers installed before using it.

That is why we have to say yes or OK. My stupid virus program keeps wanting to update but doesn’t finish the update and I don’t know why. I think I might be supposed to uninstall the previous version but if I am wrong then everything goes Phooey! Don’t they know I got a computer so I could play Spider Solitaire and color pictures. (which is now complicated again)

Maybe a virus keeps it from updating! LOL

Has anyone figured out yet why it is a problem that my ethernet cable is not connected when I am going online wirelessly by using Fiend as a hotspot?

@DemonBaby, I believe in spirits–which is not quite the same as ghosts. Don’t know about ghosts. I think God takes better care of souls than that–but perhaps, since we can say “no” to God, we could insist on being a ghost. I’ll have to ask him next time I see him. ;^)

boo-monk - The basket would be nice, but the last time I rode a bike, my butt hurt for days! I see the one I found even is a moped, I guess. That would be great for when I get tired before I get where I’m going.
