After subsisting on CocoMocha (essentially) all day, my body told me to give up and take an early snooze. So here I am, at least until I can get back to bed. Don’t count on a chat with me though - I have a writing assignment with a hot deadline.

Good morning, tribe! Digital - Good to see you, I always enjoy your comments wherever I find them. Luv - At least you can watch the tight ends. All I get is how good/bad a team is at scoring. Montana Lady - I understand thoroughly! It is even worse for me to visit my in-laws in Florida. Traffic or being stuck in a gated senior citizen community. “Walking on eggshells” all week long trying to keep peace in the family.

Hi, Grog! I’m sure it is warmer where you are than where I am today. It is bright & sunny here, but the high is only supposed to get up to 47F. Burrrr!

Hi Rmom Our present teperature is hovering around 50 right now with a cold stiff breeze blowing out of the north. Our high is supposed to get to 65 today. We should be back in the high 70’s by Sunday. It may be the last time I get to enjoy such temperatures for a while. A real cold front is supposed to blow through by Wednesday evening. Oh, Joy!

Grog - At least tomorrow through Monday, the highs are supposed to be in the 60’s, so this cold snap won’t stick around too long. I don’t know the forecast for after Monday, but I’m not looking forward to winter. We had our first hard freeze last night, so I’m hoping that kills off the pesky bugs, which is the main thing I appreciate about cold weather.

We too are supposed to get to the mid-40s–but so far it’s foggy and no sun…and windy.

bmonk - The wind isn’t too bad, and with the sun, our weather sounds better here. But then, since I’m so cold-blooded, neither Dakota is on my list for where I would want to live. Doc - Sounds about right. You get the weather about a day before it hits here. At least you get more snow than we do. My hubby says that was one of the advantages of living in KS rather than PA - less snow to shovel.

Doc - We’ve never shoveled our driveway at this house. That’s because it is all gravel, but at least it is on the south side of the house, so melts reasonably soon. I have shoveled our deck occasionally, because it doubles as a front porch. At least with the gaps between the boards, any snow that melts runs off, instead of forming ice.

Doc - Some people might say that’s how you wormed your way into Grandma’s heart. I did a fair amount of shoveling the last several years at my mom’s house. She had two driveways, both paved, and one was pretty long as the garage was added to the back of the house.

I admit to caving everyone in a while for a good peanutbutter cookie, Rmom. I also like the occasional cheesecake.

Grog - Sorry, neither my husband or I like cheesecake, so I don’t make those.

Rmom - Yes, they are good! They go good with my tea as I’m watching a lesson on Greek history.

I prefer machine cuisine myself. BT Karma bank comes through again! BFF says thanks to the tribe….everything is in the right place and she can use the new knee as much as she wants within pain tolerance. And she has a VERY high threshold. Just a quick update. Rmom, I heard a vicious rumor that some persons thought it would be a good idea to turn Thanksgiving into a Foo Ball marathon. Can you imagine the sheer audacity?

I seem to recall something to that effect, Luv. I can’t imagine, for the life of me, who would suggest such a nefarious idea.

I’ll be here too, Sojo. I was thinking of going up to the place where I shoot pool and watching the game, but I’m looking forward to watching it with James here at the house. So you might hear a few of my emotions as the game progresses! LOL

Well, if I am not around for Christmas you will all know I succumbed to the urge to destroy the source of incessant Christmas music in a public place. Fortunately, with my history I will probably be in the psych ward instead of prison.

Okay, here’s an idea. I will be wearing a headset while shopping for the remainder of the year. Just in case.

@Luv, I was disgusted when a local radio station started playing Christmas tunes in the FIRST week of NOVEMBER!

I no longer listen to that station–at least for the next four weeks.

Sojo - You’re welcome! Luv - Gasp! Earplugs are a great idea. I went shopping at Sam’s & Walmart today, since I want to stay out of those places next week, and I heard “Jingle Bells”. Oh, the horror!

Get used to it folks. I know they were playing those tunes at the mall when I went earlier this week. I, too, thought it was a bit early.

A huge tree was up, and the kids were already lined up to see Santa.

I’ll be back after din-dins.

Grog - I can understand the stores selling Chrismas decorations right after Halloween, since some people want to have theirs up by Black Friday.

Rmom, earplugs are good. I admitt I use my bluetooth to listen to my music while shopping. Oooh! I could bring my Portable CD player (walkman style) and be really obvious about it as I sing to music only I can hear. (giggling)

Can you sing, Ducky One?

Luv - Until I found out about bluetooth, I thought those people were really nuts. I will get a song stuck in my brain (I think that’s called an earworm) and tend to sing it until I can get something to replace it. Unfortunately, I can’t sing well at all.

Who needs the ear plugs? Apparently, I will. I just want to listen to my tunes not everyone else singing theirs. If I wanted to do that, I’d go to a karaoke bar….and that ain’t happening.

Grog - I’ve never been to a karaoke bar, and I can’t see that as being very likely either. At least I know I can’t sing, so only my family gets tortured. I refuse to join the choir at church.

Of course I can sing! I just wouldn’t recommend anyone listening while I am doing it. I am considering joining a choir. I think I will inspire new levels of praying. (maniacal giggling)

Rmom, If I’ve been in a bar that plays karaoke, I made sure to leave before they start the tunes.

OK, so nothing anyone would pay for, but may pay to keep you quiet, then, Ducky One.

quietly I tippy-toe-in and look about…… How is this for being late?! Listened to grandson #2 play the drums in a band as they accompanied a hs musical which would have been really good if the sound equipment was better…Band was good, of course. (proud grandmother)

My daughter is celebrating that most of my Christmas music is MIA with my old computer. Especially, some of the more interesting songs. I like some Christmas music, just not between labor day and the first full weekend in December. Or between New Year’s Day and May Day.

Hi Sojo and Luv is Duckie I DO love Christmas music but I want to savor it in the proper season. (Of course we have been practicing for our C’mas concert since Sept.) Sometimes, I play carols in July, however.
