Good late morning everyone thanks Montana Lady. My only reason for taking on-line courses saves on gas money though cost more per credit hour and I can read. Another I work as an Office Specialist receptionist and this field of Office work is dying as more people can input. Sadly where I work at higher ups have gone higher in technology I have been refused.
When we were in Yellowstone last month, and watching the eruption of Old Faithful, there was a film crew from the NEW Discovery 3D channel…and they were filming the eruption. This will supposedly start sometime after the first of the year. That would be an awesome segment. We were wondering why they chose the spot they were filming at, ‘cause the wind would blow the steam right toward them. Then we found out they were 3D people, and of course, that would only add to the enjoyment. :)))
Can anyone willingly fill me in on the Pibgorn Problem. I used to scan the 1st page of comments, then it went to this funky little icon saying how many comments were made. I said, mentally, F* This, I already have enough problem with the slow mentality of my machine. It was really sad, ‘cause there’s where I went for some commentary on 9 Chickweed Lane
As far as Oprah W. buying the Discovery Health Channel, first, she’s making me break my vow not to watch her bleeep (figured I’d do it rather than let GoComics do the censoring). Second, I don’t begrudge her a channel, but why take over Discovery Health? THere’s the Golf Channel, Military History, QVC, and a ton of more–ah–less watched channels she could have gotten cheaper and her fans would have followed her into the Pit. Grrrr…..I love watching DH at night, Mystery Diagnosis and Trauma: Life in the ER.,
Runs with Nog I looked on the Pibgorn page. On the right side we have an advertisement for groupon or somesuch (a couponing site), Giclee Prints, Pibgorn and the Borgnia cantus, Pib Rep: MSND and under emphemera & reconing, a link to a blog that end in 2009. I click the link for recent entries and its 11/28/09. Maybe I’m not worthy.
@Quaby, if you click the Blog tab at the top of a comic page, page 2, about 1/3 down, has the official explanation. No longer with its multitudinous comments…
Quaby: Pibgorn’s cartoonist didn’t like the comments; the comments were removed. Outrage was expressed; disappointments and name-calling ensued; the trolls had a field day, and life goes on. Only difference is if one of the Pib fans misunderstands a cartoon, there’ll be no correcting it by the cartoonist.
@Saskfan, it’s a bit warmer today–but not exactly warm. We did get a bit of slickness on snow and streets, but not the freezing rain they had north of us. All in all, a mixed sort of day, at least for December.
Yeah, Bmonk thanks for the link. I ended up elsewhere the first click, but backing up and clicking again got me there. That is really annoying, people who can’t control themselves or their written mouths. Makes one wonder who the next target will be.
Someone asked what our Christmas concert presented:
(Warning: Religious songs ahead)
“Praise the Lord” (arr. by Ralph Johnson)
“Grown Up Christmas List”
“One Bright Star”
“Tell All the World”
“Footprints in the Sand”
“Away in a Manger”
“Where Are You, Christmas”
“Christmas Swings” (inc. “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Frosty the Snowman”, & “Here Comes Santa Claus”)
“Carol of the Drum”
Themes for “The Nutcracker” (Overture, March, Coffee-Arabian Dance, Trepak-Russian Dance)
“Carol of the Bells” with “Greensleeves”
bmonk ‘twas I who asked about what you sang. Thank you for your response. A Nice blend of songs! We have done several of them including parts of the Nutcracker. FYI here are ours which had no pieces in Latin this year or Handel. (Alas!) Again, (Warning: Religious Carols approaching:
“Christmas Processional” (Linda Spevacek)
Organ and tambourines
“The Wexford Carol” (really liked arrangement by Wetzler)
“O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” (arr Sheldon Disrud &
James Christensen
“Christmas Lullaby” (women) 3-4 part–many Ave Marias
Great Joy a Comin”
“Breath of Heaven” arr by Roger Emerson
“It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas”–Meredith Wilson
arr: Stuart Churchill
“Snow, Snow, Beautiful Snow” (Hummm, not always *: ))
“Look-a That Star” (Men tenors/basses) Jay Althouse
“Christmas is….” Maxwell and Percy Faith
“Thirty Second Fa La La” (We did it at 160 speed..Wow)
“The Hushing Carols”(Linda Spevacek) general carols.
Good? evening Sojourner Glazing mist at present.
Chicken soup (with chicken in it) is simmering. Took some over to a neighbor just home from the hospital early because of the forecast glazing…All was well at 3:45 here.

bmonk Extra fun to include the young people voices and band.
Do you remember me telling how I once served my husband chicken soup without the chicken???? (it was in a bowl waiting in the fridge) Nothing like a laugh!!
Sojo this little mist will only be a trace overall. Hazardous for sure but not an ice storm. We have been essentially dry for over 30 days…had an inch-1/2 snow. We are as desperate as you for some moisture, I think.
Hi, Sojo & Hope&Joy!Hope&Joy - We didn’t even get snow here at my place. Wichita got a little once this season, but not enough to matter. It is pretty dry around here, but at least it isn’t critical for the crops yet. Worse problem would be out-of-control fires. Wichita and the county it is in had a burn ban, I’m not sure if it is still in effect. My county isn’t under one, and since it wasn’t too windy, I had my son burn our trash yesterday & today. (He thought it was too cold to do it all in one day.)
We’ll start getting some of that late tomorrow evening and on into Friday. Part of that system that caused the tornado damage in Oregon. I hope all we get is the rain. Unfortunately the cold will come with it.
Grog My daughter in Longmont. CO, close to where Doc lives, says the temp was in transition there with a 50 high at noon and then falling. 3-6 inches of snow in a weather advisory. No doubt headed toward you from the Oregon mess as you said…depends on the currents I guess.
Hi all at BT. Rmom is right about the slight snow. Where I work at someone said it was snowing big flakes a lot of shock. First rain then snow didn’t amount to much. There is a lot of head colds going around. Don’t think I’m being goofy here I don’t get head colds or I really don’t know what a head cold is like. Now I know about allergies that turn into sinus infection.
Oh I hope Little Sister is doing better then I on all her tests. And Rmom you can tell your sons good for them on their grades.
I have found out around Wichita there are not enough Christmas lights on around area. Road I drive there are a few though not enough to go buy. Hubby found some on Internet that is highly deliteful. Well I am watching tapes catching up on shows I missed while doing studies.
Hello again I had an interesting afternoon. The place I work at there are different levels there are stairs no elevators to step differnent floors. The Admin Assist had to leave to pick up her daughter for an appointment. Well anothe employee who works at a different area older man with health problems told me he fell on some stairs going through a different level you could see how bad his injury was. I had to let management know they called 911 and stayed with employee of a different area. When emergency came out fire dept and ambulance were talking to the possible patient I understood what they said. I stayed quite only spoke up when they asked for his medical info which I volunteered to make copy for them. In long run the older man refused to go by ambulance to emergency room for treatment. He may have broken his thumb and bruised his ribs. He waited for his wife to show up. Other wise if not for medical book I wouldn’t understand too much.
Grog - I could be wrong, but I think that in Wichita anyway, that if an ambulance is called by a 3rd party and you refuse transport, that they can’t bill you.
gayfatnakiedvet are you kidding people on BT live for food topics and something I don’t like Football.
The man I refered to has health problems and according to him he sat for an hour trying to decide what he should do. I was by myself when he told me so I needed to contact uper management about him. He is a full diabetic plus othe health problems. He may have brusied couple of his ribs. The emergency people asked him at least four times about going to emergency room he said his wife would take him. They did work with him I assisted only a small way. Copy his personal medical for them for their records. I have seen on news in some states when like Grog stated when emergency vehicles come out say for car accidents they will present a bill due to budget problems. I will have to wait to see if he comes on Thursday.
