SOJO Please send me some pancakes and real maple syrup with plenty of butter to grease the arteries so they don’t get clogged. Thank you. I’d throw WINK out of bed for eating crackers. Beds are for sleeping and one other thing. No TVs,ashtrays or food in my bedroom. Cats are allowed to be anywhere they please (like I have any say).

Yesterday the thought of a greasy duck dinner in bed did tempt me, so I will impose penance of a double order of pancakes, eaten at the table with no TV ( morning paper maybe).

If your roads a better, ours just took a turn for the wurst! We’re getting blasted, and I’ve got lots of errands to run for tomorrow’s party! At least it’s warm..33….. so maybe it won’t turn to ice. They are pretty good about plowing our roads around here….I guess it’s a small enough area that they can do a good job of it.

Good morning, Montana Lady. I’m probably at the northeast end of your storm. It was -10ºC at 10 a.m. yesterday, got up to +2C at 3 p.m., and stayed around the freezing point all night, after some rain made it too entertaining to walk outdoors. It’s now 10:50 a.m., and down to -3ºC, on its way to a low of -24C tomorrow night/Monday morning. the snow we’re getting is much lighter than an hour ago.

It’s trying awfully hard to snow here too–but not doing a very good job, thankfully.

Just popping in between a Saturday morning liturgy/music workshop and the weekend liturgies–so I have less time than usual. Except that I did get some things done ahead of time.

Hmmm: In honor of the strip (and poor WInk’s plight), I will bring a tray of hot, freshly breaded and fried fish filets.

Oh, and for the vegans, some breaded and woked asparagus spears. And cauliflower.

Any other virtual-tempura cooks out there with other ideas?

Hi, Ooooooooops! & Sojo! I’m using the same recipe I use for my dinner rolls for the cinnamon rolls. I need to bring treats for our Sunday School class in the morning. If these don’t turn out, I’ll still have time to buy something. I haven’t made cinnamon rolls in a while, the dinner rolls get snarfed quick enough around here.

Cinnamon rolls are good–I remember we often had a pan or three for Sunday breakfast. Once we got home from Mass, of course.

Good evening all here. Rmom did you put any pecans in your cinnamon rolls? My mom use to make the best homemade bread and cinnamon rolls with pecans.

I do have fresh deer, if anyone wants it.

Apparently, our local elk herd is getting slowly smaller too. My Gma’s cousin & neighbor came over and told us how the neighbors are getting tags to shhot one of the elk when they are on their own personal property. Yup, one of them spots the herd heading for someone’s property. Phones start ringing. Someone grabs their jacket and gun. Downs a cow (female elk), calls the neighbors to let them know which direction the herd are headed. Then deals with their prize. No tromping about for hours in the rain and cold.

Big Sister my brother-in-law would like that. He has to buy a permit and goes out before dawn to find deer. I can’t have any fried food. So far the way I am eatting is working. My fat cells our melting/burning away. 8 lbs so far. Very hard 8 lbs to. Does your neighbors then use the meat on the elk? Weather people are saying more snow for Tuesday accumlations not sure how much.

Well, I hope they are using the elk meat. I know I have grown up eating both deer and elk. I didn’t realize how different the two animals were until I saw the pack of elk a few week ago.

Today we seem to have a mom and young deer hanging out less than twenty feet from the kitchen window. I was surprised to see them during the day, even more surprised when I noticed they were still there several hours later.

Since I can’t have too much chocolate and if I do very limited. I thought with my icon I share with you all. Since valentine’s on the way.

Poaching Elk, even on your own property, is and always will be illegal in Oregon.

Where my brother-in-law lives he can’t shoot deer. He has been on two lane hwy and he swear the deer are mocking him as they gather in groups and touch the car. Our area is deer country. To quiet here. I guess I will sign off. Sunday church for us. Boy scouts are doing a chili and chicken noodle feed. $4. not to bad on price.

I don’t mind pecans as long as they’re not praline. I eat them to keep my cholesterol levels balanced more than anything. They have a lot of the good fats and little of the bad. And they taste good too. But I hate almonds.

I prefer cashews.

I like cashews too, ♥Little Sister♥ They’re both good to me. Also pistachios. But I want nothing to do with the other varieties of nuts.

I enjoy pecans, walnuts (black and English) peanuts etc. I use nuts a lot in baking and salads.

I eat a lot of walnuts and almonds. Sometimes peanut butter. Although peanuts aren’t nuts they have some of the same good qualities.

I like cashews and pistachios also but don’t get them much do to their cost.

Golferman eats a peanut butter sandwich every day and he keeps his weight o.k..

I never did like peanutbutter, HoepandJoy♫, from back in the day I was a little squirt.

I used to eat peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, but these days I just don’t like the after taste of it.
