Hello all. I felt like I had a day off from on-line. I received my 2nd grade for paragraph. And from yesterday my sister is still laughing at me. She told me the lady who said we could be mom and daughter felt embarrassed about that. As she should. So I wacked them one over the phone. Actually I need Big Sister canon and ca-boom them.

Hi, friends! Busy day, but now I can relax - I think. Donated blood, went to class, found out that due to internet problems we had to meet at a different building. Had our first test, and it was frustrating!

Hi Rmom - Do you know any results yet?

Sojo - Since it was taken on the computer, we got the results at the end. I got an 88%. What was frustrating is that in Microsoft Office, there is always more than one way to do things. But if I didn’t do it the way they wanted, then the question kept popping up. (It gave 5 tries, but I just wanted to say “I give up!” instead of it keep asking me, like I was going to think of it without cracking the book open.)

That would be frustrating.

Sojo - Being fairly proficient almost makes it harder, because I’m used to doing a certain task one way, and don’t remember the other choices. My son got an 86%, which I was glad for him, because I thought as much trouble as I was having, he’d have a much worse score.

Rmom Still 88% is not too shabby!

Hope&Joy - True, but I thought this class would be an easy A for me.

HopeandJoy, that is so cute! I just ummm…… saved it so I can look at it later.

Rmom, it is sometimes easier to learn something new than to learn to do something you know how to do in a new way. Just like it is often easier to teach someone something you recently learned than something you have been doing for a long time. I think once it becomes automatic to us………..

Rmom I understand about the A…I used to think if I scored below a 90, I had failed! I think what Ooops says is true too….at least for me.

Ooops you are welcome to any of them you find. I actually made it smaller AFTER I had copied it to BT but at least it is not too big. I sent your cute HUGS to my granddaughter in Colorado and she said “Ahhhh, so cute”

Oooops! - I agree. I know that’s why I insist the boys learn how to drive a stick shift while they are still new drivers.

Hope&Joy - It depends on the subject for me. Some subjects I’d be happy with a C, some with a B, and of course, A’s are best.

Rmom I can understand for you use to being a straight A student, I’m not, frustration. Yet not using a computer your use to. A B grade would be fine for me.

I just found out place my hubby retired is dropping a contract with a major medical company expiring March 1, 2011. They have chosen like so many others a generic one. Now I have to find a different pharmacy.

Kab - My sister has said I’m looking like Mom. But at least no one has suggested she’s my daughter! I do resemble Mom more than she does, so it is hard to argue, because when I look at my hands, I see my Mom’s. If I was taking Science, higher Math, or a foreign language, I’d be very happy with a C. Just frustrating when I know how to do what it says to do, just not the way they want.

Kab - That’s no fun. Hopefully you’ll have some convenient choices.

Rmom I really know how you feel. When I tested in the past I found out how testing on computer software was at that time needed no shortcuts. I told my mom I resemble her side of the family. But I don’t look like my sister’s mom. Though I am getting more gray hair.

I think I’m going to curl up with a book and relax. Good night!

Kab Sister, if it helps at all my nephews and nieces seem to think I look as old as my mom. (No more presents for them!)

Rmom, is there a particular reason they want you to learn to use the program in a different way? Have you asked the teacher? Sometimes if there is a reason and you know why, it makes it easier to learn………….. more psychological stuff, but true.

Ladies when I had Psychology I was happy just for a C. When I ever get ready for subjects I’m not interested in but have to have if I get a C I will still be happy. There was one I made a C not sure if I can take again this subject was interesting and I wish to see if I can learn more. What a cold day we had with the ending of February coming. Spell check has me spoiled. I know most are watching their favorite TV or cable show. We got our taxes done and found out we have to pay Federal getting very little back from state.

Big Sister I’m glad not the only one. I will start laughing about this. My sister still is. She was having a stressfull two days anyway. Also for some places included on big dept I work at there is a computer shoftware tests that require little or no shortcuts mostly from the menu bar to see if testee can do this. Then on the job you can use whatever shortcuts one wants.

Kab Sister, how long has it been since you have seen your sister first thing in the morning?  

Ooops! - Probably because it is the way the book teaches. At least the teacher is around my age - could be older, so she’s like me - has experienced the various software versions. She’s really a pretty decent teacher, other than texting in class and coming in really late, she’s easy to get along with. It is just harder for me to remember how the book says to do something if it is different from the way I’ve done it for years. Just because of the number of times I’ve done it that way - the rut is deeper.

Kab - The CPA just notified me that she’s done with the trust’s taxes, so I’ve got to pick that up tomorrow. None of us beneficiaries can do ours until we have the info from that. She’s going to do ours for us this year. I have no idea, but I’m not expecting a large refund. I’ve always done them before, but they are just too complicated this year that I decided it was time for an expert.

I guess I better say goodnight. I got behind on tapes working Saturday and Sunday. I believe the more the ladies and less the children had a great time. There were a few men there.
