Good morning to all getting ready for church. I thought let you know we had a very close call. Within 5 miles of us. National weather had us in OK, KS, NE, and IA under sever weather warning. The storms started building long before 5pm. Went through OK causing damaged there and southern KS and grew. When got closer to us moving north the vortex was a mile wide. divided ICT, KS. We do not have damaged east part of ICT does.
I’ll have Huevos Rancheros and DWFNC, thanks Citizen GROG!
Go get it Dusty!
Close call last night with the weather. A tornado about a mile wide (with 2 smaller ones beside it) was headed for the center of town when it was about 10 to 20 miles away. It lost some power and went around the south side of Wichita so there wasn’t near the damage there could of been. About $235 million damage maybe. Watching the news to see what happened. About 90 tornados in the state last night some large. Most stayed in the open country and just missed small towns, a lot of lucky people!
Glad you and your family is okay, Kab. That was really close! We had a bad “drive” yesterday. Lots of heavy rain, lightning, snow and more rain for about 200 miles until we reached St. George.Today onward to our first stop in Palmdale (the northernmost part of the L.A. county) We’ll be there for the next 4 days.
I’ll stop by the breakfast bar, and pick up some cheesecake and DWFNC to go. I even brought my sippy cup!
Good Morning Montana Lady – Sorry you had bad driving weather. At least that maks driving in good weather seem better! At least it seemed that way to me when riding bicycles and motorcycles.
Good Morning, Knightman, ♥Kab♥, Sojo & Montana Lady.
♥Kab♥ & Sojo, the National Weather Service issued a 24 hour advanced warning on Friday, warning impending doom & disaster, hoping residents of KS, OK & TX would heed the warnings.
Looks like you both dodged a bullet. I hope there aren’t too many fatalities, but I suspect there will be.
There is a mobile section 2 miles south of us law has broken off. Citizen Grog we all headed the sever warning and from 5:30pm I never got to read watched the weather was going on. We have a bi-level so not much protection. Also listented to Sheriff scanner as I am now. The number of listerens highly rose. We could feel something was coming.
I’m not sure where since the massive tornado damaged was broad. All emergency personal are working with reseque dog.I called a couple of cousins lives very near Clearwater in the country. One recieved damaged to property the other not.
All three aircraft company’s and McConnel received damaged. Over 7000 is without power. A main street called Oliver and Pawnee is closed to all traffic. Down powerlines. Amazing no injuries or deaths. So close to us and I’m still shookup.
Citizen GROG! – I would think so. We had 97 tornados yesterday, the yearly average is 50 something. In 12 hours we had almost twice the yearly average! Just saw on the news at least one has now been rated an EF4.
Just popping in, to let you know I’m fine, no damage at our place. Went to our chiropractor Saturday morning, looks like his office lost its roof in the tornado Saturday evening, from a picture I saw in the paper. I just told him that morning that “someone was going to lose a trailer” as trailer parks are notorious as “tornado magnets”. I didn’t dream it would be the trailer park a block from his office, though! At least people took the warnings seriously, no fatalities in KS that I’ve heard of, and not a lot of injuries. It could have been MUCH worse!

Just heard that at one point 40% of the state was under a tornado warning with hail up to 4".

I was going to comment on today’s strip, but I decided that caution is the better part of valor.
Hope your Sunday was peaceful all.
