Kingston’s solution reminds me of the old joke about the monk who asked St. Peter if he could be a stud until the computers with the records for heaven could be rebooted—he ended up on a snow tire somewhere in North Dakota. . . .
I do hate Mondays, Sojo, but I’m working from home today so it isn’t that bad. At least I know that there’s no chance of getting stuck at the office on this stormy day.
Hello again. From Saturday storms spotters brought up about west side airport. If tornado had struck there, our house would have took a hit.I was talking with SRMom she brought up a point so I asked I asked our local TV station. Boeing CEO wants to leave ICT. Boeing being struck by the massive tornado if the CEO will pull out sooner than next year as planned and not reapir the damaged building.
Oh, that would have been in the late 1980’s. Since that time, we’ve witnessed the destruction an F-5 leaves behind. (Went about 1 mile from where we lived at that time.) I’ve only seen one tornado in person, and it was about 20 miles away. If it is within 5-10 miles and heading my way, I’ll be in a basement, so we didn’t actually see that F-5. The one that hit Wichita Saturday happened after dark, so it wasn’t very easy to see – the storm spotters on the ground had to wait for lightning strikes, or when it hit power lines to see it. Thank goodness for Doppler radar!
SRmom when sirens blew here Saturday evening. We went down to lower level. Prior I was watching KAKE and listening to scanner on internet. My hubby brought another lap top down guess I should have brought mine down and did not since i had more hours. I have seen two different types of tornado’s. As a kid my dad and I looked out our back window facing west of ICT. The sirens did not blow until after the two tornado’s kept going straight N.Then one time in house in Cheney not a tornado close though think big dust devil hit the house and blew stuff around. We actually felt it hit. Do not think we had damaged then.
I remember the one back in 1999. My dad had just passed and a massive storm came through the same location as the one from Saturday. Same direct path. People was either injured or killed out of that. A lot of towns where damaged. For our current location we are boarded to town that is targeted for tornado activity.
Good evening kids. I hope everyone is doing well today..Dusty you will sooo enjoy being a stud..Yesterdays nasty storms have passed and it’s been a beautiful day here. Tornado time is upon us and this time of year just makes me jittery. Especially the night time storms like they had in Kansas.Tornados are nothing to sneeze at, you might get hit by a cow. :-)
jkissmya head those warnings. Believe this a tornado pulled a man from his home being destroyed, threw him in a tree a little banged up and he survived and talked about it amazing.
