I admit it; I was the one who monkeyed with the thermostat. I turned it UP. That’s why I live in the Arizona desert. Below 75o, I put on my sweatshirt!! ;p

Well, who turned up the thermostat in Southern Calfirenia? We’re flaming here… well, some more than others.

Thom: No. Calif. is luckier this year - last summer everything was smoke and ashes, like a perpetual winter, only very hot instead of cold. Nothing against So. Calif., but hope we STAY lucky (of course, so much burned last year it would be difficult to have the same damage again this soon).

Thom: I just checked the Weather Underground Wundermap for your area. I don’t envy you folks. Looks like heavy smoke everywhere. I just hope the fires stay away from you.

We can see the flames in the mountains to the north of us and the smoke is very, very bad. You may notice a theme to my cartoons this week… and now you’ll know where cartoons often come from - real life.

Someone should charge California for all the carbon emissions they’ve got going on due to those fires. Maybe they can get some cap and trade credits though and it will all be ok in the end. And to all those in Cali whose homes have been lost or are being threatened, you have my sincere sympathies. Please remember these annual fires the next time a 100 year storm strikes my beloved New Orleans.

How do you punish someone in hell for monkeying with the thermostat? What’s more extreme than hell?
