Problem is that birds aren’t affected by capsaicin, the chemical which makes peppers hot, while mammals, like rabbits and humans, are. On the other side of the evolutionary reason for capsaicin’s existence, pepper seeds pass through a bird’s system undigested, while they are digested by mammals.I.e. Birds like jalapenos, rabbits don’t.

I have an original THOM on my wall where the speaker looks oddly like this devil and says I’m driving HIM crazy.

ML, I refuse to recognize non-thinking vegetative faces as they probably aren’t trying to kill me. Are they?

Yes, I’ve heard that some birds love hot peppers, but mine won’t touch it. Cuddles Cockatoo LOVED vanilla ice cream and Fitzroy the Timneh Grey is fond of fresh corn on the cob.

Stuff them with a mix of sharp cheddar, cream cheese, and chopped bacon and a dash of Worcestershire sauce, bake them until the cheese melts and mmmmmmmm……

I grow lots of hot pepper varieties in my garden and in addition to cooking with them and just eating them I make my own blends of pepper flakes for pizza and stuff. Hotter and more flavorful than the cayenne you get at the pizza place except for the one that’s just straight New Mexico green chilis which is just kinda hot and way tasty. One of the two clumps of greenery between the walkway and the row of greenery looks like a small critter. Not exactly a bunny ’cause the ears are a little short for that.

Jalapenos, Scotch Bonnets, Habaneros, food for the gods IMHO! The hotter the better in my book!

Birds don’t taste hotness in peppers like we do. They like them, especially the little seeds inside. So a parrot would be asking for more, not complaining.
