Fellow Baby, believe it or not, we never went to any of those places in all the times I’ve been to Kingston. Those sites were just never part of the agenda, even though I was interested in seeing Wolfe Island. The people I traveled with were not as interested as I was. That region though, is home to some very good micro-breweries, and I was able to sample a few of those in my latter visits.
The same is true for Niagara On the Lake. All downtime activities were company sponsored. But I have to agree that the restaurants were awesome. At least I was also able to see the falls, fortunately. There was a choice between seeing the falls or going golfing. That was an easy choice for me.
I think Hilton was on the company preferred list if I remember correctly, Fellow Baby. The house boat trip was rather cheap in that all we paid for , was our share of the boat rental. I can’t recall where we stayed in Niagara, but it was probably Hilton as well.
Fellow Baby we stayed at Ramada Plaza Hotel when in Kingston, right on the water/harbor front, but I am a member of Trip Advisor and check back to places I’ve been, and I think another chain has since taken it over. We stayed at The White Oaks Inn Conference and Resort Spa when in Niagara on the Lake. Advertised as being right in the town, but took 20 minutes to get to Niagara on the Lake. The drive was scenic though. The White Oaks exterior grounds were very nice, but it was over priced for everything, but what did I know? LOL! I guess there have been a few more hotels open up since we were there, and the Hilton Gardens is one of them, stayed at those before and have always found them to be clean and nice.
I moved here to enjoy year- round flowers when I was almost ready to retire. I did as much remodel of garden and house while I had a good job – got laid off sooner than expected (at 67) so I may never remodel the upstairs ;-(

I’m offended that I can’t see any faces here. Something about that gate looks like a face, but I can’t get it.

Fellow Baby yes that would be an easy choice! As far as Wolfe Island, my family didn’t want to go, so I went by myself! :-D Dang party poopers!

Sounds like you didn’t have to pay for much though. That would be nice. Where did you stay, what hotels?

I think I recall staying at a nice Ramada hotel one time, right on the lake. Nice view and nice restaurants not too far away.
