Thom, I never knew you took humor so seriously. I do hope to seriously buy and read that book of yours when it eventually comes out. Seriously. I would like to add it to my other collections which include but are not limited to B.C., Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, Adam @ Home (the Brian Bassett version), Citizen Dog, and of course, The Adamms Family.
Now I know why I identify with your cartoons so much! Wonderful blog, and great to be able to put a face to the wonderful work you do. I may have mentioned it before, but my wife can spot from across the room when I’m looking at one of your pictures, just from the richness of the color and the detail.
All I can say is: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thom, that was sure an honor to hear all about your art work. Congratulations! You really DO have a gift, and I am constantly grateful you share it with the world! I personally get my kicks each morning from your ’toon. Thanks!
What a great read Thom! Glad that you were able to succeed in doing something that you enjoy. Keep up the good work, I don’t always comment, but I always read and laugh at Birdbrains!
Thanks for the blog post. I admit to taking a certain amount of umbrage at that, “…odd (perhaps psychological) reasons…” shot, but I think I can work through it. It’s a treat to see someone working by hand instead of by digital manipulation. I’ll look for the book.
I’ve been following this for a couple of months. Just read the blog, and am delighted to feel like I have “met” the artist and cartoonist. Really enjoyed this strip before reading, and it seems even better now…puts a face/background into the mix of the cartoon. Wish more artists would do the same and let us know when they do. Thanks, Thom
Thank you so much for the kind comments and for not saying anything about how I look in real person… or in fake person, for that matter. I truly hope you get a kick out of my cartoons. I hope they make you laugh, brighten your day, cause messes on your keyboards, through joints out of whack and cause passersby to wonder why your body is involuntarily convulsing.
I am honored GoComics wanted me to say something about me… surprised, too! I don’t feel I’m worthy of having fans and I don’t really think of you all that way. I feel honored you take the time to read this insipid, inane, dumb cartoon.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me on the blog. I’m not worthy, but I am very grateful.
And thanks for putting up with me! I know some of you may occasionally be offended by a cartoon here and there – and that’s okay – but thanks for knowing I NEVER mean to offend anyone who doesn’t deserve it… oops, slipped… never mean to offend anyone.
Read your blog and enjoyed it. Your writing skills match your cartooning talents—witty and entertaining. As to your readers likely being prone to psychological aberrations… you may be right. Keep up the good work!
Thom I remember you doing a politically inclined comic called Kerry’s Fairies during his presidential run. You do have fans and a lot of them. I enjoy all your comics and looking for the hidden faces. I’ve enjoyed the tributes as well. Not everyone will do things like that.

Wow, Thom, a very interesting story! No, seriously, I seriously mean it seriously!
No, seriously, I’m not serious at all…
…well, maybe envious; yes, that’s it! I’m seriously envious of what you do… or is that enviously serious?
Oh crap, I seriously lost my train of thought!
