the mice must know there’s a cat in this place, but they continue to show up. however, i usually intervene and throw the mouse outside — so it could be the same mouse over and over again. perhaps the mouse likes it.
I used to have three cats that had a twisted game they’d play: find a field mouse, and take turns with one of them carrying it up to the roof to drop off, then the other two would play mouse hockey while the first one came back down. Switch positions, lather, rinse, repeat.
It was fascinating how organized they were about it.
