I have had vegan burgers at fast food outlets. They manage to make it taste ok, and I admit I didn’t feel weighed down after eating them; but they can’t seem to do anything about the plant-based “aroma”. I guess I can expect only so much from beans and tofu.
I’ve eaten vegan many times and enjoyed it. Our niece is a fantastic vegan cook and baker. Whatever she makes, I always enjoy. On the other hand, I love a good burger and chicken marsala.
I was standing in line at the Gyro booth at a local Greek Festival. Young couple in front, first date maybe, the girl asks if she can get a vegan Gyro. I pity that poor guy….
I tried the “impossible burger” at Burger King, a plant based burger, and my thought was that it was impossible to think that it really compares to a real whopper.
“I thought about going vegan, but couldn’t figure out how to pronounce it.”Long or short /e/? Hard /g/ or soft, as in its root(?) word ‘vegetarian’? /an/ or /un/?
Honestly, he could do a lot of good environmentally, cruelty-wise and re his health just by eating a little less meat. A great way to do that is to watch some read or watch some chefs demonstrate a high-end, easy to make dish, not to look at a 70’s beans and short grain brown rice vegetarian cookbook. Have some GOOD food instead of depriving yourself.
Nothing wrong with the occasional Vegetarian/Vegan dishes or meals. Actually, they can taste pretty good. For me though, they will never, Never replace my unhealthy meat, cheese and starch delicacies that i so thoroughly enjoy……
I’ve had vegan dishes prepared by vegans, and most of us that ate it were polite, and said you couldn’t tell that it was vegan. I’m always polite by being silent.
A few days ago I got behind a militant vegan in traffic. She had 9 vegan bumper stickers on the back of her car including one with a picture of a pig captioned “I wasn’t raised to feed your fat situpon.” The word from the bumper sticker for which I substituted situpon is on the bad list.

If we weren’t meant to eat animals they wouldn’t be made of meat!

I knew a woman that was vegan. She had five dogs and she would cook meat for them sometimes. It made her nauseous when she did it.

I’ve considered going vegetarian a couple of times and decided against it. Going full vegan is definitely out.

I have no urge to go vegan.

I can manage vegetarian a lot, but vegan is much more difficult. No cheese? No eggs? No cream? That’s tough!

I eat less meat than some who claim to be vegetarians, but I am not vegetarian.

Yappy thoughts. There are people who can’t afford food of any kind.

OK, WHO is speaking (it probably doesn’t matter), and WHY is this considered humorous (assuming it’s supposed to be)?
