Preparing for a Potluck
by GoComicsDid somebody say "holiday potluck" ?
Giving you the chance to sample a variety sweet and savory eats, potlucks are popping up across office parties and friend groups around this time of year. But, as any potluck attendee knows, choosing your contribution can be stressful, almost spoiling your excitement for what's to come.
"Should I bring my famous fruitcake?" "Will a simple salad suffice?" "What if no one likes my dish?" "I can't go wrong with chocolate chip cookies, right?"
If these thoughts sound familiar, we've got you covered with a few tips:
1. Keep it simple!
When it comes to preparation, sometimes the contribution that takes the least amount of work receives the most enthusiasm.
2. But not too simple.
Your addition of potato chips will only make you look like a couch potato.
3. Don't stray from the classics.
When you have a dish you're known for, it's best to stick with what you know.
4. Know your audience.
