Creator Event: Wildlife the Toonie Way
by GoComicsGreen Humour creator Rohan Chakravarty has an exciting exhibition coming up in June! Read below for details from the cartoonist himself.
Does a virtual wildlife safari seem like a good idea to you to beat the big city blues? Well then, allow me to extend an invitation to you to my second solo exhibition, "Wildlife the Toonie Way," being held in Hyderabad, India, on World Environment Day (the 5th and 6th of June). The event is being organized by WWF India, the Telangana State Biodiversity Board and GP Birla Centre. Starting off as a bird-walk at KBR Park, the event also has a workshop on drawing cartoons on wildlife and conservation conducted by me on the first day, and a talk on using art for conservation and awareness on the second day. The event schedule is mentioned on the invite.
With 50 pieces on display, including my wildlife caricatures and comics, the exhibition will aim to endear wildlife to visitors (and also make me a little rich), with goodies such as T-shirts, refrigerator magnets and coffee mugs on sale. I will also be hoping to promote the art of cartooning among budding artists cum wildlife enthusiasts. I am this hairy, funny-looking guy, fairly easy to spot even in a crowd, so don't skip coming up to me and saying hello, and letting me know whether you liked the artwork or not (I've even asked the guards to allow critics in!).
