10 Comics To Help You Stomach Belly Laugh Day
by Caleb GoellnerDoctors have been saying it for years: laughter is terrible.
Cardiac and esophageal rupture, abdominal hernia, asthma attacks, headaches, jaw dislocation, stress incontinence -- these are just a few side effects laughing affords. And belly laughs? Those compound the effects by several magnitudes. Especially that last one (we've heard).
Or is it the opposite? Laughter might be medicine? It's been almost 20 years since we saw the Patch Adams trailer and decided to go see The Faculty instead. Man, remember when Jon Stewart was an evil alien science teacher? Spoiler: He got a pen in his eye! What did Patch Adams get in his eye? Tears of joy at helping sick children? Hardly the same.
Terrible things are pretty cool, though. Look at James Dean. Everything he did in Rebel Without a Cause is bad for living humans. Including starring in movies.
So be cool on Belly Laugh Day by laughing at these comics about bellies. It's probably worth the risks.
