Garfield Classics by Jim Davis
by The GoComics Team
GARFIELD was born on the comics pages on June 19, 1978 in just 41 US newspapers. The largest client, The Chicago Sun-Times, cancelled the strip about 4 months later, prompting an avalanche of phone calls and letters demanding the strip be reinstated. It was, and the rest, as they say, is history. GARFIELD soon became the fastest growing comic strip ever, and is now the "most widely syndicated comic strip in the world" according to Guinness World Records. The strip appears in over 2100 newspapers, is translated into 40 languages, and is read daily by over 200 million people around the globe.
GARFIELD CLASSICS takes us back to the beginning to remind us why we fell in love with the lazy, cynical orange cat who loves lasagna, coffee, and his remote control.
