(Don't) Prepare For The Total Solar Eclipse With These Hilarious 'Peanuts' Strips
by The GoComics TeamThe continental United States is in for a treat today as a total solar eclipse crosses the sky from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. Depending where you are on the map, you'll be able to watch the moon pop in front of the sun, blocking its light beams and creating a temporary swath of darkness. It's set to be the coolest 2ish minutes anyone on Earth has ever seen... since the last total eclipse.
Provided you'll be in the proper viewing area, you'll want to take some NASA-recommended precautions to safely view the eclipse. Peanuts, however, showcased some less-than-apt ways to experience the cosmic phenomenon back in the day. We invite you to review the opposite of successful eclipse viewing in the hilarious collection below.

The last eclipse that could be seen in my area was in Feb 1979. I was as psyched as Lucy…and the sky was completely overcast that day. At least I didn’t get rained on.

“Someone in production sure slipped up this time.” Appropriate punchline for a repeated strip. The second date is correct; click on the earlier one to see the right strip.

Why hasn’t there been comment sections for the past few strip collections?

I’m in an area where the eclipse will be 100%. Right now there are thunderboomers and rain. I’m not holding out too much hope for it to clear off. before 1:00.

We goy some eclipse glasses and saw a good bit of it. The sky was clear over Wichita Kansas, and it was somewhere between 94% – 97%.

What other strips highlighted the eclipse? Uh, mine.
