Catana Comics' 'Little Moments of Love' Tops the Charts
by Charlie UpchurchSometimes a tepid first date turns into the type of love that garners 1.4 million followers - if you're Catana Chetwynd, that is. Catana's book, "Little Moments of Love," recently reached #4 on NPD Bookscan's bestseller list, in addition to topping charts in Publisher's Weekly, The London Sunday Times, and Amazon. It's no wonder why - the comics are cute, universal, joyful peeks at the inside of a happy relationship.
It all started on Thanksgiving Day, 2016, when Catana's boyfriend John Freed suggested that she make a comic about their relationship. Hours later, her first comic was done, with many to follow in quick succession. The first comic featured the psychological phenomenon that Catana credits to their relationship coming together: the "mere-exposure effect," which says that the more often you see someone, the more likely you are to consider them likable and pleasing. After Catana and John's lukewarm first date, they just kept bumping into one another, and the sparks finally starting flying.
The couple used Catana's artistic skills and John's web prowess to get the comics up and running, and now they're a viral sensation. Catana credits John with supporting her and helping Catana Comics truly come to fruition.
