Heathcliff's Surreal Robot, En Español
by Charlie UpchurchPerhaps you follow Heathcliff, the original orange comic cat, on GoComics. Perhaps you don't. Either way, today's lost-in-translation moment is either a brilliant comment on the hedonism of the season (and how that might look to other cultures), or it's just really, really, really, really, really-really weird.
Let's dive in.
A standard Healthcliff comic. It's confusing, it features a large robotic creature, havoc is being wreaked in Westfinster. Typical hijinks here.
And here - the same scene, en Español! But no gravy here. Which raises the question — what is the Spanish version of gravy? Is it salsa? Is salsa more of a staple than a holiday-based sauce? Is the writer of this article not consuming gravy on a frequent enough basis? Is assigning meaning to madness essentially a futile cause? The answer to all of these is ... yes, probably.
Just remember if you need a little more absurdity in your life (or at least absurdity in the form of a 45-year-old hedonistic cat), follow Heathcliff on GoComics. It's your daily dose of weird. (Psst ... you can also check out our recent collection of the best of Heathcliff here.)
