'Ask a Portly Syndicate Person' Has Debuted, Here's Our Exclusive Q&A with the 'Cartoonist'
by John GlynnGoComics is thrilled to announce the launch of what is now considered the most exciting new 'comic' to debut in the first 1/3rd of the month of July this year. Please welcome "Ask a Syndicate Person" to the august and irreproachable roster of features here at GoComics.
We were lucky enough to catch up with writer/'cartoonist' J. Francis Glynn for an exclusive Q&A.
GoComics: Thank you for taking time out of your busy, busy schedule to meet with us.
JFG: Sure.
GoComics: Tell us what you hope to accomplish with this 'comic.'
JFG: I was lucky enough to have a mentor help me when I was young, naive, confused and untalented and now I want to pay that back and devote myself to the less talented.
GoComics: So, the 'comic' will be giving advice to aspiring cartoonists?
JFG: Why do you keep using quote marks around the word 'comic'?
GoComics: Well, from the look of what's there so far, it's not really a comic per se but more of a stream-of-consciousness phillipic that doesn't really address the topics you say it will.
JFG: What does 'phillipic' mean?
GoComics: Rant. Diatribe. Tirade.
JFG: Tirade!? WTH! I'll end this interview ... (shouting offscreen) "Judy, why didn't you tell me it was going to be this kind of amateur-hour baloney?"
GoComics: Don't you feel an obligation to be straight with the readers?
JFG: I feel an obligation to slap your silly face.
GoComics: Ok, I'm being signaled by our producer to end this interview. Thanks to J. Francis Glynn for the time and the insight and we wish you the best with your 'comic.'
JFG: I'll kill you!
