"Free" and "comic books" aren't often mentioned in the same sentence, but when they are you bet we're going to talk about it!

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is the biggest event in the comic book industry. It's a single day, typically the first Saturday in May, when participating comic book speciality shops around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes in.

This year's FCBD takes place on May 4 and it will mark the event's 22nd year. As you read this, comic books are on their way to more than 2,300 comic book stores around the world.

Every year's FCBD has a set list of participating comic books, and you may recognize a few characters involved in this year's lineup. Phoebe and Her Unicorn: Unicorn Crush is one of the 12 Gold Sponsor titles, and Snoopy: Beagle Scout Adventures is one of the 36 Silver Sponsor titles.
