‘Burt Renolds’ and ‘acting’ in the same sentence without a verb implying poor performance?? Truly scandalous! Still gotta wonder what Sally Fields saw in him, not to mention Tammy Wynette, Lucie Arnaz, Adrienne Barbeau, Susan Clark, Sally Field, Lorna Luft, Tawny Little, Pam Seals, Dinah Shore, Christine Evert, Judy Carne and last but not least Loni Anderson. On the other hand, if he could get all those women to sleep with him maybe he wasn’t such a bad actor after all!
I was staying at the at the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach in the summer of 1979 when and where the Cannonball Run finish line was being filmed. I was 14. I met all the actors who were gracious and friendly, and signed autographs, including Jackie Gleason and Sammy Davis Jr., but EXCEPT for Burt Reynolds, who was the complete opposite and shunned the fans, even though the only fans there were guests of the hotel . He thought our limo was his, and made a snide remark when we got into it, then he was rude to my father in the restaurant. He was a real jerk.

Hey, Opus! I thought you were a penguin, but it turns out you’re a loon!

Did you see Burt in Striptease? Now that was some fine acting.

…and Dukes of Hazzard, too.
Ranks right up there with Casablanca, The Godfather and Fistful of Dollars.

I liked Burt best in Silent Movie, where he was a walking parody of himself. All his other work I can take or leave. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Flagged the spammers

Kinda funny, I’m just finishing a book that began with the protagonist watching Cannonball Run II.
Anyway, Opus is the real sex symbol. What I wouldn’t give to have a schnoz like that! You’d have to beat the lady penguins off with a fish!
