As the series went along, Opus got very popular and BB put him in almost every strip. But BB never really liked him very much, so he made Opus more and more of a loser.
Ed, the fact that BB gave Opus his own sickeningly backward, excessively liberal strip later on proves you must be right. How can you portray something you love that way??? He really did hate him. In fact, I bet Opus was the cartoon version of BB, and he loathed himself and his beliefs through Opus. That explains a lot.

I think Opus must be from Egypt; he certainly is Drama Queen of Denial.

Poor poor Opus. If not for him (and good old Bill the cat) I wouldn’t have followed this strip from the very beginning to end.

Sing along with Sherlock: “When a poophead says you’re mother’s a disgrace, go ‘Heil THPPTHP, heil THPPTHP,’ right in the poophead’s face!”
