A slick haircut, a warm smile and a friendly joke as he takes your money and hands it to the rich and you slobber your thanks all over him. A master showman. A very poor president but a better actor than he is usually given credit for being.
The spin is incredible — reps consistently turn their own acts around and blame dems for them. You really have to be an expert liar to be able to do that.
I am not a fan of Reagan personally, but he isn’t the only reason that our country is in shambles right now. He started the whole “trickle down” economic theory which has granted big businesses the ability to thrive, but it’s not like everyone after him couldn’t have done better. Republicans and Democrats have abused their power, and taken advantage of the system, but it won’t get better until the people take charge. Government officials need to be reminded that they govern for us, not over us. Lobbyists and special interest groups need to be given the boot, and shouldn’t have anything to do with politics. Stop accepting that politicians with a 35% approval rating keep getting re-elected.
