Pretty sure the license plate spelled out horny in the original strip.
I seem to remember the license plate spelling a different word. Must have tangled with the censors at some point.
No word of a lie, I have one of Berke Breathed’s early Bloom County compilation books. In that book, Steve’s license plate spells out “Horny”, not “Hey Baby”.
“I’ve Got Eyes For Your Hills, Baby”
When Worlds Collide seems like a fitting compromise….
Good thing the L and I in flick weren’t too close together, or that sentence would’ve taken on a whole new meaning.
That Steve was always a charmer with the ladies, wasn’t he?
