To the right of ‘Bloom’ in the title, it looks like Rosebud. Okay, okay, without antlers, but perhaps antlers have to bloom.

    “Rabies

Rabies was Milo’s dog, who could talk. He only appeared during the first few years of the strip, later to disappear at about the same time that Opus became a regular character. Most of his final appearances were simply as part of the Sunday edition, specifically leaning against the logo while smoking a cigar.

Rabies was also a character in Breathed’s previous comic strip, The Academia Waltz, where he was Steve Dallas’s dog." —Wikipedia

The last Cutlass was produced in 1999, so that’s the latest this strip could have been produced. So, young Mr. Bloom, 18 years later, how’d the African relief efforts go? Or, is giving money not the answer to human misery after all?

This is written for post Christmas, but if you go back a few weeks he is still referring to Reagan as president, so this is most likely pre-88.

I’d say Steverino made out pretty well. Milo Bloom got what he wanted and deserved. too.
