Back in 1980, when I was 16, I manned the door for Halloween. Just about every single little costumed munchkin, when I opened the door, said, “Trick or Treat! Vote for [Reagan/Carter]!” with their parents behind them, coaching. I hated it.
I have been stating the years that they should move income tax filing day from April 15 to October 31. Not because it is the cruelest prank played on most of the public, but to remind voters just how much is taken from them just before national elections.
