A five minute soak in a wet, soapy lather will kill fleas. It simply drowns them. The only survivors will be the ones that take refuge in places that can’t be soaked, like around the eyes and nose. It’s the perfect solution for animals that are too young for pesticides.

Unfortunately bathing your pet, with a flea shampoo or ordinary dishwashing soap, only kills the fleas on the animal. It will not prevent a reinfestation because the shampoo leavse no residue with killing power so the next time your pet walks through and area with fleas he/she will get a new batch of pests to deal with.

Yeah, it’s a temporary solution. But, considering that a bad infestation can kill a small animal, it’s a fast head start on solving the problem. (And possibly saving a life). And, I don’t know of any medication or pesticides that’s approved for very young critters.
