Where is it written that 16 year olds are required to get licensed?????? 21 would be better.

18 really would be better. Now Jane’s gonna worry about both her car and her kid.

I had my license at 16, but I also got a job to pay for a car, insurance, maintenance, taxes, etc. We made the deal with our kids that they could have a license at 16 or later, depending on how soon they wanted to work so they could pay for the increase in our insurance rates. Our oldest waited until he graduated from high school and was almost 19. Our youngest is 16, and is still learning to drive. If they pay for the insurance, they tend to be more careful about getting speeding tickets, etc. Nothing wrong with a responsible 16 year old driving, but too many aren’t responsible, and shouldn’t be allowed to drive w/o their parent along.

Regardless of what there friends are doing, mine aren’t driving unless I’m in the car, and it won’t be at 16. I didn’t get mine until 18 as well.

Look likes she has another Peter Fox (or Spongebob Squarepants) to deal with.

Why worry, She has already trashed the car once. How much worse can it get?!

I got my license at 16. But there is poor public transportation in my area and by 17 I was in college and needed a way to get there and work.

And the first place Sydney is driving is Jane up the wall.

It’s written in the lawbooks that at 16 you can go for your permit, then your license. Except cali, where it’s 15.

Of course, only an idiot would think a 16yo is mature enough to drive. But you know our lawmakers.

Adding to yesterday. I was a drivers license examiner in WY and a 14 year old can get a license there. Of all the ones who tried not one of the ranch youth ever failed. Maturity through hard work?
