Just remember, sometime in the future when you want to take up music again you’ll be saying, “Damn it. I should have kept it up. I’ve totally forgotten how to sight read now.”
Only in music can you study something for eight years and still be able to tell people truthfully that you can’t play. Even people who are pretty good in band or orchestra often can’t just pick up a piece of music and play.
