for the record, ‘Jingles’ (played by Andy Devine) was Wild Bill Hickock’s (Guy Madison) sidekick in the old tv series. Roy Roger’s sidekick would be Pat Brady , whose gimmick was that he drove a jeep

(Yeah, Pat was also a Roy sidekick. Along with Gabby Hayes. And Dale, if you count a wife as a sidekick. Andy Divine was also in there. Long career. many sidekicks. Can’t tell I wasted my childhood, can you?)
