Getting to work on time is a challenge for some people, particularly those whose school had no penalty for lateness or have not had employers who demanded on-time performance. For the unskilled, who are paid minimum wage without benefits, employers are treating their employees as if they have no worth and then are affronted when employees respond in kind by treating the job as having no worth.

    Nah. Work is over-rated.

But is it? I’ve got family who quit a job when the manager pisses them off and (even in this economy) find a new job in less than a month. When you’re talking about minimum wage, no- or low-skills jobs, they really are a dime a dozen. There’s little imperative to form a work ethic, when wal-mart is always hiring.
