The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for August 06, 2012
Transcript:
Huey: The purpose of New Year's resolutions is to keep the masses demoralized, reinforcing the status quo. For example, a person resolves to lose weight, but every day he's bombarded with carefully crafted McDonald's ads meant to break his will. Soon, he eats a big mac, unable to change his own behavior. He abandons hope for systemic change. Hope is crushed. Caesar: I'm so happy I get to listen to this kinda thing for another whole year. Huey: Don't mention it.
