    The only black sitcom worth a darn was Cosby. But then there have been only a half dozen white sitcoms worth a darn.

    I think there’s irony being employed here, because so many of the black characters on TV during the days of Jim Crow racism were portrayed as clowns or buffoons. The last panel makes the point that post-Cosby, there have been no good black comedians for a little boy to look up to – the role models they have are mostly either “bad-arse” types, or comedians and musicians whose routines consist of a string of often misogynistic profanity,
