Huey: I don't quite trust this Saddam Hussein fellow over in Iraq, Granddad. Did you know he's been a C.I.A. asset since 1958 and the C.I.A. helped him take control of Iraq in 1968? Now he's actively using weapons of mass destruction, and Reagan, Bush and some guy named Rumsfeld just love him to death! Granddad: Huey? Huey: Yes? Granddad: I'm gonna burn your "Bloom County" books if you don't let me sleep.
Can you believe this was 35 years ago? And we thought he was full of it when we read it then. 35 years and the politics and the lack of public interest remains the same. Frightening.
