In Roberto Rossellini’s movie about St. Augustine, a pagan says: “Christians teach you to love your neighbor but to hate his beauty, joy and pleasure!”

No, no, the “Old Testament” is fire and brimstone, the “New” is all about love. As long as you do what it tells you.

Odd, “this letter” would be the threatening follow-up, which would puzzle more people than the regular run of spam. At least it didn’t include a link to what would turn out to be a satanic organization trying to sell you “warranty renewal” on your twenty-five year old car.

Many evangelicals love the little children. At least the unborn ones. Once they are born, they can starve or die from treatable diseases because it might take tax money to save them and taxes are evil in their sight. No matter what Jesus and Paul had to say about government.
