I’ve lost count of the number of times my parents have called me to check on something that turned out to be a scam.
At least my mom didn’t fall for it when her “grandson” called her claiming to be in jail somewhere in the Caribbean. (She called his other grandmother and found he was in school, where he should be.)

There a terrific UK series called “The IT Crowd”, which is more about office politics than IT, but does show that for every “bad” IT guy, there are hundreds of obnoxious users, who won’t even make a note of the answer you gave them the last ten times.
