The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for August 05, 2024
Transcript:
Editor's note: Despite the tremendous reader response to "the adventures of flagee and ribbon," we have decided to bring back "The Boondocks" on a probationary basis. However, should the material be deemed inappropriate, we are prepared to bring back "flagee and ribbon" at a moment's notice. United we stand. Huey: Mr. Petto, how come nobody is talking about the ways that Bush' big-oil compadres will benefit from this "war on terrorism"? Ribbon: Hey, flagee, can we sing "the star-spangled banner" again? Flagee: Of course, ribbon. It's our national anthem!

Right on, Huey! Not to mention that the value of President Cheney’s Haliburton stock options increased by over $36,000 every day of that misadventure (and probably still do).
And that is why we invaded Iraq, thus succeeding in making the country safe for the Islamicists.

There’s so much that was never reported. Like ammo dumps left unguarded while troops were stationed to guard oil related facilities. Those ammo dumps would eventually be looted and the contents used against allied troops and in the making of IEDs.

As I understand it, the original name of the Iraq invasion was Operation Iraqi Liberation until someone pointed out the acronym would be OIL. Probably apocryphal but then it does sound like something the Bush administration would do.
