Gutfeld! is political commentary (and he and the panel all seem to be having fun). The late night shows have become political commentary as well, except humorless without everyone having fun.
Instead of just railing against one side with no humor whatsoever, how about getting back to insightful humor on all current topics. Quit being humorless angry white guys and maybe your ratings will come back. Parr, Allen, Carson, Leno, Letterman all had a really good formula that the current crop apparently does not understand.
I may disagree with Maher on most topics, but he is interesting and entertaining to watch and is willing to have both sides on the show, treating the other side fairly (most of the time). Trying to watch Kimmel is painful.
